She was the first cat i've ever had with black pads. I know they can do genetic testing with dogs to find out their breed. Wonder if they do the same with cats? I'd love to know what she really is.
Her first litter all had glossy short hair. Perhaps there is some burmese or bombay somewhere in...
That's what we were told by her "previous" owners, she has the shiny glossy sheen in her coat coloring and several of the traits, she has solid black leathery pads. Her hair isn't very long, just barely long enough to not be considered short haired. She's more of a fluffy semilonghaired than a...
I was worried about that too catwoman, but she has no problem screaming/shoving the bigger chunks out of the way for a nipple. It's actually quite humorous to see. She can hold her own despite her size. At first I did have to hold her in my hand, just so she could hold her head to the nipple...
At this point it would probably be just as bad to rehome the puppy as to keep trying herself. the stress to the pup wouldn't be good. Plus there is always the risk of pitbulls ending up in fighting rings.
A whole foods market or green foods market would have goats milk if there is one near you.
Breeding several times over a period of days is the best bet, but please watch them carefully when they are together. Males can be extremely rough during the mating, and wounds to her neck and sides are very possible, especially if he is a much larger male. Supposedly a female can be mated as...
Could you post some pictures of mama and babies? I love seeing the pictures!
it's so great that you took her and her babies in. I'm sorry you lost one, but if she went awhile without eating or being underfed its not uncommon.
I would LOVE to not have to worry about fleas!! Lucky duck.
I keep seeing a lot of threads about lost kittens recently and it breaks my heart. I wanted to share a good news story to lift some hearts!
If you haven't read my earlier posts, I'll catch you up. My baby had her babies on Monday March 4th. Two of them came out in the same birthing sack. The...
Haha I doubt sales went up. We have walmart, brookshire brothers, and a couple of tractor supply/feed stores and thats it. Everyone shops there anyways ;)
Ritz I've tried craigslist...no go. There were a couple postings for puppies (they were doing the same offer we are, $25 for a puppy unless you meet them at the vet) and a rabbit, no cats.
**Edit:**
Maryland? Haha no thanks! I like my wide open spaces and pine tree forests and the sounds of...
StefanZ our shelter is a no kill unless its absolutely necessary due to illness/injury/disease. They even have a pitbull program (they require any handlers/volunteers to go through a safety/animal care class) where they rehabilitate/rehome "high risk" or abused animals.
Oh sorry! My Welcome to the Forum post explained a lot of that. I live in a VERY rural area, a lot of farms and such, in the middle of Nowhere, Texas. The shelter has an average to high dog population, but almost no cats. Ever. I've worked there as a volunteer off and on for over five years now...
