I have one normal cat and one crazy cat that eats everything. It doesn't matter what it is, strawberries, oranges, dry rice/pasta, literally a worm, she tries to eat it. It's getting really annoying because I can't leave anything out on the counter without her destroying it overnight. I had a...
I have a two year old male cat (who was neutered when he was 4 months old). He continuously tries to mate with my female kitten (who's not fixed yet and only 3 months old). She's obviously not in heat and will often just be playing or eating, minding her own business, and the male will come bite...
I recently adopted a beautiful Burmese cat. She is 3 years old and was originally bought as an expensive, purebred cat to be used in a breeding program. I do have her papers. She was bred once about a year ago. The owner became very ill and had to surrender her.
She is not currently spayed...
From what I’ve heard, bengals tend to have more sensitive stomachs than other cats and don’t do as well with food transitions. Have you tried mixing the dry in with some wet? I think that would be the way to get started if you want to switch.
A lot of cat foods with gravy will have either wheat gluten, potato starch or tapioca starch. Are any one of the 3 slightly better than the others? In what order would you rank them if you had to feed it to your cat?
My family cat is quite overweight. He is 6 years old and weighs just under 19lbs. I think he would be best around 14lbs. We’re currently feeding him about 250 calories of dry food a day for the past 4 months but he has not lost any weight. I don’t think he eats a lot but he is still fat. He is...
There is a local raw food company here selling raw cat and dog food. Their ingredients are:
chicken, tripe, beef kidney, beef heart, fish, beef muscle meat, bone, eggs
Wondering if it's good to feed a cat and if supplements are required?
Favourites can obviously change but what food is your cat currently loving the most?
My kitten absolutely adores the nutro chunky loaf chicken and sliced turkey.
No, Arctic Mice are overpriced, poor quality and generally avoided in the reptile community. I get my rats from local breeders. That way you can personally go see the conditions in which the rats were raised and get fresh, humanely prepared frozen feeders. But I do know of a few online...
Oh yeah, those arctic mice prices are ridiculous. You could try finding a reptile keeper who breeds feeder rodents. I get my adult rats for about $2. Pinky rats would be like 50 cents a piece.
Now that I think about it, rabbit is a pretty common protein in cat foods and it’s biologically about as close as it gets to a rat or mouse. I personally feed some NV Instinct rabbit. But I guess rabbit is still considered human food but rat is just ew disgusting.
I show a thawed rat to my kitten and he just sniffed it and seemed confused. He does eat some raw but I think an entire furry animal is just too weird to him and I don’t think I could ever cut up a rat myself :help:
Is there any sort of cat food that contains mice or rats? It seems like a much more natural prey for cats compared to like beef or pork.
I have snakes so my freezer is always full of frozen captive bred feeder rodents and I sometimes wonder why they’re not used for cats as well.
