    cutaneous round cell tumour

We said good-bye to my sweet girl yesterday. She had lost a 1/2 pound between Friday and Saturday - I phoned my vet and brought Gracie in. It was heartbreaking to see Gracie so thin and weak - I could feel every bone in her body and she was wobbly on her feet. She still wasn't interested in...

    cutaneous round cell tumour

Took Gracie to the vet yesterday to check out her oral health. Turns out she had a very bad case of build up on her teeth. This was taken care of. She wasn't terribly hungry yesterday and I am trying everything that I can to encourage her to eat. She is so thin and doesn't look terribly...

    cutaneous round cell tumour

Thank you for the advise - I went out and bought some baby food, some good quality catnip and called my vet. Gracie ate the food and I noticed a difference in her right away, maybe it also had something to do with the little bit of catnip that I gave to her. My vet was happy with my plan of...

    cutaneous round cell tumour

Update on Gracie - cough and sneeze cleared up but now her appetite is the problem - she has lost a lot of weight, she now weighs 8.6 pounds. She seems to be holding her own, except for the weight loss. She was losing interest in eating so I mistakenly (should have done more research before I...

    cutaneous round cell tumour

Gracie seems to be holding her own.  Her diabetes is totally under control, she eats and drinks and her weight is stable but she seems to sleep a lot more than she did before (she is 17 years old).  She has acquired a cough and sneezes.   Have an appointment to see the vet so I guess we will see...

    cutaneous round cell tumour

The tumour was on Gracie's back.  The vet said that it there was nothing to the surgery.  My daughter had a dog with the same thing 3 years ago and Holly is still alive and well.  Gracie's stitches will come out next Thursday and I will have a bunch of questions for my vet.  I am hopeful.

    cutaneous round cell tumour

Thank you all so much for your advise.  I have done a little research and will be asking my vet about trying prednisone - this is supposed to help with quality of life.  Gracie has been acting strangely for a while - just sitting and what I call "howling" and I am wondering if she is in pain or...

    cutaneous round cell tumour

Gracie, she's 17 years old, was just diagnosed with cutaneous round cell tumour.  It took me completely by surprise.  It started out as a little growth on her back and grew within days.  The vet removed it and said that it was likely nothing.  Well I got the news today that Gracie has cancer and...

CT has crossed over and now Gracie is alone

On Sunday July 5, my gentle giant CT left us.  He was 18 years old.  He had a very rough start in life.  He was a street cat and he adopted us as a a full grown 2 year old cat, but he only weighed 6 pounds.  Over the years we got him healthy, loved him and he became a cherish member  of the...

    Perfect for long hair cats

I found a product at the local Wal-mart that, in my experience, has got to be the most wonderful product.  It is called "I (Heart) Pet Head" de-shedding wipes, with coconut oil and pineapple.  It comes in a bright pink container.  Let me tell you a little bit about Gracie - she is a beautiful...

    Diabetic cat

HI:  My Gracie (14 years old) has had diabetes for many years.  I have been giving her Lantus for many years and her BG has always been all over the place.  My vet would like me to switch her to Levemir.  Most of what I have read talks about starting diabetic cats on Levemir.  Has anybody...

    Three senior cats with IBD

I have a cat - Gracie - she is 13 years old and has a myriad of problems - arthritis, diabetes, kidney issues and the latest is IBD.  What she is on now is Hills I/D which I feed her in the morning mixed with a pro-biotic then at night I give her Friskies - which is also mixed with a...

    At wit's end

I have one solution - get a large tall plastic tub (clear is best) cut out a "door" for your cat to go in and out of - when the cat urinates it hits the wall and the urine stays in the box.  I had a cat that did the same thing; Morris was quite old and I noticed that he would walk in to the...

My Gracie is driving me crazy

Hi  Thank you so much for answering.  I am aware that giving Gracie dry food is not the best for her diabetes.  I have another cat - C.T. who was also diagnosed with diabetes over a year ago, and I immediately took him off dry food and he has been in remission since then.  But as far as Gracie...

My Gracie is driving me crazy

I hope that someone can give me some advise.  My cat (12 years old) and a princess has just been diagnosed with IBS - at least that's what the symptoms point to.  She has had many problems in her life  - Diabetes which went into remission.  Arthritis  then  return of the diabetes (insulin 2x per...
