    First Time Foster

The two cats I'm fostering aren't sick but rather weren't eating because they were depressed at the shelter. So I'm glad I don't have to worry about upper respiratory but now my concern is how my own cats handle it and the little time I am able to interact with the fosters. They will be kept...

    Cat Limping on Front Leg

I know it's been a while since I last posted on this thread but I wanted to provide an update.  Charlie's limp eventually went away!  I was going to take her in for xrays but decided to give it another week or two of rest.  I separated her from my other cat for about a week and the limp seemed...

    First Time Foster

I recently found out that the local humane society is overcrowded and has many cats that are depressed and have an upper respiratory infection.  I live in a 3 bedroom house with 2 of the bedrooms unused so I decided I should open my home to these needy cats.  I've heard that fostering cats is a...

    Xrays for Charlie

Thank you Violet for the insight as to Charlie's behavior issues.  The last checkup was a couple weeks ago and she even snapped at me as I tried to get her out of her crate.  She eventually let me hold her, but as the doctor approached, she started growling.  I just wonder if she autmatically...

    Phases of Introductions

Aw yeah I think it'll come with time.  She's just being territorial right now and hasn't completely accepted him into her home.  Charlie still hisses at Boyd a lot.   He is always wanting to play and he is a big boy so I think she just doesn't like getting beat up all the time.  I feel bad for...

    Phases of Introductions

I adopted Charlie about a year before I decided to adopt my second cat, Boyd.  Charlie is a cat that loves to be around people and is very curious, so I thought she would accept Boyd right away, but I was wrong!  I kept them separate for only a couple days and decided just to let them get used...

    Xrays for Charlie

My poor Charlie has been limping for 3-4 weeks and I've finally decided its time for Xrays.  She absolutely hates the vet and will have to be fully sedated for the Xrays.  A few years back I lost a cat under anesthesia so I am a nervous wreck.  Furthermore, I don't know for sure if the xrays...

    Cat Limping on Front Leg

Thank you for your input!  I'm now wondering if it could be some arthritis.  She had an accident on the stairs a few years back and I took her to the emergency vet for an exam, but they didn't find anything from just feeling her leg (maybe a minor soft tissue injury?)   I believe it is the same...

    Cat Limping on Front Leg

Yes, they gave me 4 siringes liquid pain meds.  I gave her 2 of them a couple days after the visit and she seemed to get a little too rowdy afterwards so I decided not to give her the rest in fear of her re-injuring it.

    Cat Limping on Front Leg

Hello --  I have a 4 year old female cat that has recently developed a limp on her front leg.  I started noticing it about 3-4 weeks ago and took her to the vet about 2 weeks ago.  She hates the vet and went absoluetely crazy so no one was able to touch her or examine her.  I discussed potential...
