Thanks Hissy!
So I realize that what I'm talking about possibly isn't the third eyelid. Hers comes down underneath the eyelid up top.... not the same thing, right?
Hi all,
What exactly is the third eyelid? My guess is that it's underneath the eyelid and is exposed? My little girl has this some days - pretty randomly. It's white, and kind of sticks out below her eyelid.... does this mean she's not well?? She's acting absolutely normal. I just ignored...
So I did some quick research and this is one school of thought to ponder on:
Yes, you mix my powder supplement with raw meat and liver to make a balanced diet for kittens and cats.
The stories you read on my web site (www.felineinstincts.com) are all true. Please take a look at the success...
Bailey3, I have the exact same question. I had a cat for 16 years (from when I was 6) and she only got fed raw meat. This was in another country where canned and dry foods are unheard of. Well, now with my 2 babies, I feed them wet (1 can each per day) and dry food (free feed). But whenever...
Thank you all very much for your replies. They are the light of my life, those little cuties. Cat Spirit, their names are actually African (I'm from Kenya).... he is Dre Ndung'u (pronounced Dongo) and Alexi Nduta. We don't call them Dre and Alexi - we put those in because their other names...
Thanks valanhb! They're the best.
So there are more pics. Do you know how I would include a pic. to appear on each of my posts at the bottom? I tried to do it editing my profile but just the address is showing up....
Thanks!
Hi all, I've been a member for a few months now. I adopted my 2 babies in September '03 from a shelter (not from the same litter). When I brought them home, my little girl was very scared, sick, grossly dehydrated, and only skin and bones. My boy was better, but they both had severe URI's...
Thank you all sooo very much for your responses. It was a tough night, I only managed to check responses once, and not many of you had written yet, I'm so happy to see what everyone has to say. I've been up since 4am (it's 11:30am), taking naps here and there. I fed them, they could hardly...
I had a thread before about my kitties mating, and I took them to be fixed today. They've been home for over 2 hrs now and I'm in tears. The vet put the helmet collars on them, and they are just beyond miserable. I took them off for a bit but they were licking their wounds, so I put them back...
So I dropped my babies off this morning to be spayed and neutered. It was the saddest thing ever. And they were so happy this morning, jumping everywhere and playing hard. No idea what was about to happen. How do you guys do it, my heart aches. I wish I could explain to them what it's for...
Oh thank you! Of course I already have questions. I plan to take them probably on Friday morning so I can look after them all weekend. Can I NOT have those crazy helmets on them? Please tell me it's optional. I'll watch carefully that they don't lick their stitches. And I can get that...
Thanks for all your replies. I talked to the vet yesterday and he said that if they're mating then I can take them in to be spayed. If she's pregnant he can spay her anyway. So I'll be doing that in the next few days, whew!! I, seriously and unfortunately, would die if one of them had to be...
No they're not related.
Are there other ways to tell if she could be in heat apart from the cry (which she didn't do)?
It's not possible for me to keep them separated, we're at work all day. We live in a loft, so no doors anywhere but the bathroom. No way am I going to keep one in there and...
Oh no!! I have 2 kitties, boy and girl. I just saw my boy on top of my girl, humping her! She made a little sound and that's why I looked in their direction. How many times has it happened! They're 4 months old now and I ask the vet every time I go there if they can get fixed. They say...
Jili, I empathize - I'll be taking my boy and girl in a month (will be 5 months old then) and am dreading it. My brother just had his cat spayed (1 yr old) and I picked him up from the vet - he was so disoriented, they put that horrible helmet on his head (the vet says to keep it on for a...
Quick update - I took my little boy to the vet yesterday. He has an eye infection - I have an eyewash, ointment, and antibiotic for him. The vet said he diarrhea could just be part of him feeling sickly, or maybe something he licked up.... he said I should just watch his poop for a few days...
Thank you all for your responses. Well his eye still tears, and he's sneezing a little bit.... he was a tad bit more active yesterday, they play fought a little, and he wasn't asleep all day. BUT, Saturday night and Sunday morning, he had diarrhea. I didn't see any all of yesterday or this...
