    Our cat is currently doing this. It's been going on for a few months. The vet told us it might be allergies. He's got to go back in for some type of shot.

    Two of my cats do the same thing. They swallow their treats and food whole. Eventually, they puke it all back up -- usually once a week. I haven't found a good solution that works. When I tried elevating the bowl, they knocked out the food onto the floor.

    Just won't use the litterbox

    We think he might have been ambushed by our other male cat, Shelby. That's one of the reasons we added a third litterbox in a cat-neutral room that has several escape routes. He did poop about a foot away from this new box today. If he can do that, then why can't he go in the box?

    Water bowl fun...

    One of our three cats does the same thing. He likes to see the water move around. He does this more when the water isn't filled to the brim. He also knocks over the water bowls to punish us when we leave him.

    Just won't use the litterbox

    Thanks for the good suggestions. We've tried most of them. We haven't tried waiting with the cat at the litterbox. He tends to freak out when we carry him to it.... I think he's afraid he's going to the vet.

    Within the last 2 weeks, one of our 3 cats has stopped using the litterbox for elimination.
