Hello from the Pacific Northwest!
I've just spent a good deal of time reading most of the threads here that would pertain to my situation, so I appreciate all the wonderful advice and feedback this Board has to offer. I've been on TCS awhile and never posted in here!
My neighbor has dumped on...
I posted in Nutrition awhile back that Sam seems to really like Sandy's dog food and was this ok? But in the past month it has become his obsession. He literally sits in the middle of the kitchen floor and howls for dog food until I give him a tiny teaspoon of the broth, only. He then wants...
I have had to take Sammy in to the vet 3 times since we have moved seven weeks ago. He has a bad case of inappropriate peeing that has escalated to every day. Short of waking up at 4 a.m. when this happens (because his signal is to loudly scratch the wall in the room where it happens) and...
Saba jumped up on the kitchen counter while I was making Sandy her dinner and poked her tiny nose into Sandy's dog food. Sandy eats ProPlan Beef Chunks mixed with her Nutro cereal....and Saba, I guess, wanted to join in. I took a teaspoon and gave her one of Sandy's wet chunks beef and chopped...
Eric's granny, Ernie, is in Stage IV cancer and is not expected to make it past the holidays. She is 80 and a fighter....she is a rancher woman of 50 years who was a Cat Lady in her own right....sheltering more than 47 cats on her ranch in Medford and feeding/caring for them as they would let...
Sammy went in the litter box about 2 hrs ago and did not cover his poop! Saba, who is a tiny Siberian of 4.5 lbs and a little diva if there ever was one, trots into the litter room.....I can hear her digging all the way to China. Furiously! Litter flies out of the room, right and left! What...
What Did You Get Your KITTIES for the Holidays???
We have 3 stockings over our hearth. One, of course, is for Sandy ("moochy"), and the others are for little Saba, and Sammy. We have no human children, but we have fur!
Saba: A new can of her drug of choice: Kitty Kaviar, and fleece pillow...
Sandy, who is almost 2 yrs, has started to tear from both eyes this winter. It started about 4 weeks ago when the rains came -- and in Seattle, these are daily rains that last for weeks. This November was the wettest in the history of Seattle!
Anyway: we took her to the vet and she checked...
For all those who live in the Great Flooded Northwest or know folks up here, please, please, please consider fostering one of the many animals in the Cowlitz River Valley (Cowlitz Humane Society Shelter) in Longview, WA, that have been displaced due to the mammoth flooding. Eric and I are...
...we're having huge floods here! Really, really bad. Here are some of the photos. It's been raining for days, 10" to the south of us, and 6" in Seattle.
Eric and I are thinking of a winter wedding at a resort that both families can get to. I was wondering how many horror stores or good advice is out there for this adventure?? It would be early November (2007) so not impossible snow conditions. Instead of a rehersal dinner on Friday, we were...
Does anybody else watch this show or am I the only one utterly glued to it this summer (or winter for our southen hemisphere folks!)? I think this is the best show! The talent is unbelievable and to me, it's much better than "Dancing with the Stars" or whatever, because it's the hopes and...
A couple of people had asked how our new guy, Sammy, was doing in the household. I think he's doing just great and peaceful. I took this with a diffused lens - hope you like it!
Does anybody have any information as to what are the most common food allergies?
It seems that Sammy's over-grooming issue from 2 weeks ago may be related to food allergies and how they affect him. All his tests were normal except a very low, not high, thyroid. I gave him fresh tuna a couple...
On Friday there was a huge hoopla welcoming President Bush to Seattle. Here is the photo of Air Force One.....but because he spent so much time with humans at a fundraiser where no dogs or cats were allowed, our little Diva - MISS SABA - showed him who really rules the free world...
Sammy has been sneezing. There is no trace of a URI or anything - he's fine - great appetite, energy, steady/happy moods, clear eyes, no fluids, cool dry nose, but I've been stumped as to all this sneezing! It started Monday. We've had a week of rain and really damp weather and June is a high...
Sammy has been here 3 weeks and Saba is Queen of the Bedroom, rather, Queen of the Heat Pad on Mom's side. They have never shared the bed before. Even though he's far from her, at three weeks I'll take this as a good sign. It took us 3 months to get Sasha & Saba together in a photo, so not bad!
Ok, so last week we had the "Incessant Chasing of Saba" issue, which I am dealing with - and has gotten a smidgen better, although it will take time and work, as stated by TCS member.....
.....and NOW we have the Bite Mom's Nose While She is Sleeping (!!!!!) issue. What is up with THIS...
