    Questions about my growing kittens!!

I was in the same situation as you, with a pregnant stray and no idea what to do.  My kitties are 6 weeks old now, and the momma cat has done a good job teaching them what they need to know.  I worried about each stage, but really there was nothing I needed to do.  She took care of all...

Cradle cap on 4 week old kitten?

We go Friday for their 6 week check up anyhow, so I'll have the vet take a look at it then.

Cradle cap on 4 week old kitten?

Thanks!  This is crazy, but before I made an appointment for the vet, one kitty had most of the scales go away almost completely.  I decided to wait a couple of days an now all kitties are clear of the scaly bumps.

Cradle cap on 4 week old kitten?

I don't think I can get a good picture.  It is hard to see because they all have dark heads.  One kitty is still without the rough spots.  I can only think of two possible exposures to ringworm or anything else: the kitties went to the vet for a 3 week check up, and I bought a cat condo that...

Cradle cap on 4 week old kitten?

Yesterday two of 5 kitties developed scaly bumps on their heads.  Looked like cradle cap, but I wondered if it could be scratches from sharp claws as they play quite roughly.  Today, two more kitties have the scales.  When I scrape off a scale, the skin underneath looks perfectly normal...it is...

    momma kitty

Also the day she gave birth she got into the nesting box we had made for the first time ever.  We kept her confined to a small room and she seemed happy there.

    momma kitty

I had the same situation.  Pregnant stray, and I know nothing about cats.  I took her to the vet and she did have worms, and fleas.  Vet gave her one deworming dose in office and flea tx, and tested her for FIV.  My very kind vet charged me 1/2 price for the test/dewormer and no charge for...

Should I take pregnant stray to vet

I would still not call her stomach soft, though it is softer sometimes than others.  I only saw 3 placentas, but one baby was born while we were out of the room and two were born with her back to us, so it is possible she ate it when we didn't see (it was the first two and we didn't really know...

Should I take pregnant stray to vet

Five kittens!  All seem healthy and the momma cat is taking great care of them.  Her stomach is still very hard today (one day post delivery).  Is this normal or could she need to see the vet?  She seems relaxed and ate a lot yesterday, but a little less today.

Should I take pregnant stray to vet

He gave me a dewormer to administer in 2 weeks.  I suppose they tested for different types of worms, but I did not ask.  She is doing great, still waiting for kitties! Thanks for your advice.

Should I take pregnant stray to vet

She had hookworms and fleas.  The vet gave her a dose of Frontline, her first deworming, and recommended a FIV test (which was negative).  My very kind vet saw her for no charge and split the cost of the tests...I got out the door for $64 and feel very happy about that.

Should I take pregnant stray to vet

I am taking her to the vet this morning,  They will deworm her while pregnant.  I noticed mucous/blood in her stool this morning so I am glad we are having her checked out.

Should I take pregnant stray to vet

Several days ago I found a starving and pregnant stray cat.  I transported her about 2 hours to my home, during which time she threw up and had diarrhea.  I would like advice as to whether I should take her to the vet for these symptoms, or if there is any other reason a pregnant stray needs to...
