Hello! This is an interesting thread. I always like to see everyone's fur kids. :)
I have a cat (Popcorn), a dog (Pepper), 2 guinea pigs (Jetta & Mylie) & a betta fish (Rocky).
I'm so fortunate! Popcorn is so laid back. We've been doing some intros w/ the dog and letting Popcorn have access to the whole house. He just takes it all in stride! FYI-where his food & water and sunny area to rest, there is a 'door' that I can get into, to clean out his area. :)
Sleeping on my daughter's bed yesterday.
My youngest daughter loving on Popcorn.
Playing w/ my daughter & son.
This is the other side of my basement. He shares this 'cage' with 2 guinea pigs. The very top of the cage is where Popcorn can eat/drink and bask in the sun w/out any dog...
Well Popcorn's only been w/ us for a day and a half. He's had diarrhea this morning and this afternoon. He's had no firm stools since he's been w/ us. He has been eating the food he was on at the shelter. He did get 2 little treats yesterday & a Dorito from my daughter. (The shelter staff...
Thanks! He's adjusting extremely well. My 9yr old daughter came up a few minutes ago to report that he used the litter box. I was kind of nervous about that. When we were packing him up to leave the shelter, the staff told me that not an hour after I went in yesterday to fill out the...
Well Popcorn has made it home. We got here about an hour ago & he seems to be doing very well. He's downstairs where my girls' bedroom is & he's not hiding or anything. :) I 'showed' him where his food/water is located as well as the litter box. I'm hoping he'll understand that he's too...
Thanks again! I figured Science diet was bad because I think they make a dog food too. Pepper, our dog, is on Canidae which is much healthier than alot of the other brands of dog food. So, I was just trying to find out what is the better/best cat foods. I'll keep an eye on when Popcorn is...
Hello everyone! I SO appreciate all the advice on everything. I haven't been able to respond sooner because I've been getting ready to bring Popcorn home tomorrow. :) He's the white cat that's my avatar. We met him last Friday at the shelter & I went back today to see how he does w/ dogs. ...
I guess I should say that I'm not afraid of adopting. We've adopted all of our pets-dog, guinea pigs, hamster, rabbit. I used to work w/ a guinea pig rescue a few years back. I just worry about odor issues. We had to stay on it when we had a GP rescue because they can get a bit stinky. LOL ...
I'm sure I can. I know that our dog will be fine. She's been around cats before. I don't know if taking her to the shelter would be the best thing? I don't want to stress her out. Maybe I could have the shelter staff see how the cat does w/ one of their shelter dogs??? Thanks for the advice!
