I have never had a pregnant cat throw up before or during labor. I wouldn't take her food away. I think the only sure way to know whether she's in labor or not is if she's actively contracting.

Every time I have kittens they try to eat the litter!! Its usually when they are about 3 weeks old and beginning to explore their environment. It always baffles me because they try to eat the litter, but don't want to eat the cat food! Lol... They eventually "get it" and learn to pee in the box...
