I've had to use the plain chicken diet quite a few times with my cat and she never would eat it without the forti-flora.
It also has helped with minor diarrhea issues in the past.
I am firmly convinced that kittens only have two active brain cells in their fuzzy heads. The
first is used to detect locations where they can cause the most damage/get into the most
trouble. The second is used to propel themselves towards that location as fast as their
little legs will...
Much of what you mention is normal cat and kitten behavior. The running around all crazy is extremely common
and kittens will often wildly run away, which if you were another kitten would be an invitation to play a game of chase.
Kittens are also notorious for chewing paper towels and toilet...
"Natural" isn't a good descriptor of quality. To go to an extreme, feathers and and hooves are all natural but not what I would call
a good diet.
Cats are obligate carnivores and do not need grains, so I would worry about the barley, oats, and soybeans added to the purina food
you linked...
My kitty had a lot of diarrhea when she was a kitten and plain boiled chicken with probiotics always stopped it.
It took a while and a lot of trials with different foods, but eventually a grain free canned diet solved all the
problems. Perhaps you might try that if the plain chicken helps.
Sorry I forgot to mention the cost of the splash guards - I got them a while ago and
I was so desperate that I probably would have happily paid ten times that much
to stop the pee going over the box.
One thing you might consider is to run some hot glue around the edges of
the templates and...
Perhaps the OP can clarify, but where I live pets stores host adoption events almost every weekend. It's good to support
the local rescues that use pet store space to find homes for their kitties.
My spayed female is a 'standing-tall' pee-er too and can easily pee over the tallest
plastic tub I was able to fit into the area. However, she only pees at the back of the
box and one side (which are both up against a wall). So I got some rigid, easily
cut plastic (quilting templates are...
OrientalSlave - I trim my cat's claws because she catches her front claws on all sorts of things then
panics. Her back claws are a bit strange in they poke straight out like daggers and don't seem to retract
very well, so I trim them to keep them from poking me when I carry her.

Just thought I'd update this - I've been feeding Shadow Before Grain Turkey canned food now for about a month and
the itchies have stopped!
I'm going to start mixing in some of the chicken and quail varieties now that it looks like the fish oil may have been the
prime factor.
Cats can make quite a fuss when they want something. I feed my cat as soon as I get home from work but
on weekends she starts fussing, crying, rubbing, etc. for her dinner from noon to all the way until
regular dinner time.
This is just the way cats are. If you bothers you so much, then...
My female kitty Shadow likes to pee standing up. Unfortunately a plastic storage container than was tall enough to contain
the pee was also too long and wide for the area where the box is. So, I bought the largest one I could fit in the space
and then added plastic 'splash guards' to the...
Thanks all - I should have mentioned that I'm looking for the canned varieties. I had the impression that Merrick's wasn't
highly regarded but I guess I was wrong. I picked up a few cans today of the BG turkey and Shadow loves it but she
pretty much loves anything she finds in her bowl.

Just noticed that Wellness Core has salmon oil in it - I didn't see that before
So, what about the regular grain free wellness?
To add: Shadow has a history of food sensitivities. She had been having diarrhea with a number of foods until I started giving her grain-free canned food. But...
I've got an itchy kitty and the vet thinks it might be due to fish oil sensitivity. I've been feeding Shadow Evo 95% chicken and turkey for some time but recently she's started scratching her ears bloody. Nothing has changed in the house in terms of cleaners, litter, etc. so I'm going to try...
I give my sensitive stomach kitty Evo 95% chicken and turkey and she loves it. I think
any grain-free wet food would be a good thing to try for sensitive stomachs.
I would also avoid anything with fish as it can cause problems for a lot of cats.
All the little sparkle balls (or at least all the ones I could find) are now gone.
At the vet's, Shadow got a shot for acid reflux caused by swallowing the toy, and will now be taking 1/4 of a Pepcid AC at night for the next two weeks. I was informed that by throwing up the ball, Shadow gave...
I'm still going to take Shadow to the vet this morning but I think (and hope!) the problem has finally resolved itself....
She threw up again this morning but in addition to the brownish fluid there was also a toy. My dear sweet kitty
had eaten a one inch sparkle ball. After it came up she...
