Kelp is a brown seaweed. Carrageenan is derived from red seaweeds, and is highly processed/concentrated in comparison.

Did your vet show you how to give the injection, like tenting up the skin and where in the "tent" to insert the needle?
Do you know how long the needle is? (ie 5/16", 1/2", etc). That might make a difference in how far you insert it. If it's a 1/2'' or longer, you might want to be careful that...
Please don't use glue boards. They are incredibly cruel. Snap traps would be a kinder option if you have to go that route.
