    Claws

They are indoor only, that'/s all they've ever been. I put some catnip on the scratcher and now the girl uses it very sightly. But really, they dont scratch anything at all. When I grabbed Smokey's claw he actually nipped at me. Not out of meaness, just an automatic reaction. I think I'm going...

My cats don't like chicken, lol

So I've experimented with my new cats a bit. They are 4 years and I've had them a week and a half now. They previously free fed on meow mix dry and a tiny can of grocery store sliced beef split between them once daily as a snack. When I got them, they wouldn't eat so I just took a chance and...

    My dog pancaked my cat

I know I shouldn't laugh but you post cracked me up, lol. Sounds like you've got your hands full, lol

I'm brushing them several times a day. Every stroke down the back results in a ton of hair. I'm sure it's the stress.

    Claws

I'm noticing my cats claws seem very long. They are 4 years old and I've had them 3 days. They keep getting their claws stuck in things and eventually get free. I bought them a scratcher but they haven't used it yet. Is this normal? Will they fix them on their own? I REALLY don't want to...

I'm going to keep them on a little dry food. Sometimes we stay overnight somewhere and want to be able to leave out dry food on those occasions. They've been on mostly dry. So I thought the wellness was a good choice? I'll be switching them to mostly wet. Maybe I'll pick up a few different...

When do I let them out of the bedroom?

Nope, no other pets. All doors closed. Previous owner told me they were terrified of going outside so won't go near a door. Then again, they like sitting at the sliding glass door in our room. Guess I'll give it a try then. Besides, it would be nice to be able to vacuum up all that cat fur...

When do I let them out of the bedroom?

So 3 days ago we took in 2 four year old Scottish folds. We are keeping them confined to our bedroom. The previous owner warned us one was very shy in nature. They are both adapting well I think. The shy one has actually been the bravest. They are both eating and drinking (though one only a...

No, they are still on the publix wet food, half a can each per day. The meow mix WAS the main source of good but they aren't touching it. Today I bought some dry wellness health and sprinkled a little on top on the know mix. They ate most of the wellness and left the meow mix, lol

I think he does eat fairly fast but but Im not really sure. He definately loves the stuff! It could just be the stress. I'll give it a couple of days and see how they do and settle in. If it continues I'll take them to the vet.

Thanks! I forgot to mention they are 4 years old. If he only eats the wet, could that be causing the vomitting.

    New mommy with questions

Not yet. I wanted them to settle in a bit more since they are so scared already. They don't have any fleas best I can tell and the previous owner mentioned they were clean. Haven't seen any scratching so far but I'm watching. It's hard to see straight through to their skin, their fur is very...

    Food help needed

I adopted 2 Scottish Folds a couple of days ago. I need some more food advice so thought I'd post here. They are finally starting to eat a bit. Their previous diet was free eating dry meow mix for hairballs and half a can each of publix wet food per day. My plan was to switch them to all or...

    New mommy with questions

Thank you all. The good news, they came out into the bedroom tonight, even with my 5 year old present. We pet them and they explored a bit. The girl took 2 bites of wet food so that's something. The boy ate more and then threw it up in my shower. I've also noticed, his tail is getting very...

Yes, they accept the petting and seem to enjoy it. My hubby even picked them up long enough to show them where the litter box was, but they went overly fond of being picked up in a new place. I truly think it was meant to be and the will be much happier. They seem very sweet and loving....just...

    New mommy with questions

That's what I want to do as well. The dry food they are on is meow mix hairball and the ingredients are crap. I'm not sure if it's worth even giving them anymore. It's all by products and corn. The publix stuff is the canned food. They get one can per day between the two cats. They love the...

    New mommy with questions

Thanks! When gradually mixing food, does that mean both dry and wet? I.e. Does it matter if they get a tin of wellness versus publix? Once on wellness cans, can I switch the flavors around? Also, is there a difference between pouch and tins as far as healthiness?

    New mommy with questions

Hi all! Yesteray I was lucky enough to rescue/adopt 2 gorgeous Scottish Folds that someone gave away on Craigslist. Both 4 years old and stunning. They are both healthy and spayed/neutered. Strictly indoors cats. I am unsure if shots are up to date so we will be making a vet visit soon. But I...
