    Feline Leukemia

It is possible that the stray might test negative. I wouldn't hold out much hope, but it can happen. The test could have been a false positive or the cat could shake the virus from it's system before it infects the cells. If you have other cats, keep them seperated from each other. Also, if you...

    salmon bad?

Looks like it's only in farmed salmon. I personally only buy wild caught and it looks like that's the safest way to go. Also, a Dr. in there said in moderation, it wouldn't harm you. Don't know about cats, but I wouldn't give farmed salmon to mine. Always better to be on the safe side.

    flv is there cure

Ok, I'm hoping that I answer your questions...I'm not sure I understood all of it. FeLV is a virus that is passed fairly easily. It can be spread through grooming, fighting, drinking bowls, etc. Not every cat exposed to it will become infected however. Also, if a mom cat has it, the kittens will...

    feline pine litter

I only use feline pine...personal preference really. Some people don't like it, some people do. It doesn't seem to smell anywhere near as much. If you prefer to scoop your litter box, it may not be the best option for you since it's not really scoopable but it lasts forever!

    frustrated-no help from vet

I think another vet is definately in order. I'm certainly not a vet but the cloudiness and blood vessels in the eye make me think uveitis. Like I said though, I'm no vet. Just trying to offer suggestions to maybe have another vet look at. Although, you said he did a stain which I would imagine...

    Scared-Shoulds Fluffy Get FIV Test?

There is no reliable test for FIP. The test simply tests to see if the cat has been exposed to any type of coronavirus. It doesn't differentiate between the lethal & non-lethal varieties. I personally don't bother with an FIP test. My rescue has had a cat die from FIP that lived with 2 other...

    Fear of Felv and why

I would be a little concerned about it but not too much. A woman that I know has FeLV+ and negatives running around together and there has not been a case of transmission yet. All are UTD on shots and they get tested every 6 months or so. Hers have also lived for a fairly long period of time...

    question about Kilz primer

Kilz is evil. I had to prime a closet (a small one) with that stuff. I killed about half my brain cells doing it. :o) My suggestion, don't let the kitty near the stuff. It will get rid of the odor but i don't trust it around kitties. They seem to be so much more sensitive and i know I got high...

    Fluffness of the tail !!

Hmm...you might want to watch it. While I fully believe cats & dogs can see and sense things that we can't, a fluffed up tail for no reason and staring at something not there was one sign my cat was about to go into a seizure. Her tail would fluff up and she would stare at absolutely nothing, of...

    Starting of a eye infection?

Hi, I also have a cat named Tiki! He's a foster. For eye infections, you'll generally get eye drops, they contain tobramycin. Always a good thing to have help, someone to hold the cat. My Tiki has uveitis right now, which is basically inflammation of the eye. It's a little different than an eye...

    New member here!

Hi everyone...new here. I've been doing cat rescue in Dallas for a year or so now and wanted to join a new cat board. I have 3 cats right now, 2 fosters, one personal cat. I had 2 that died recently, within a week of each other. They were rescue and FeLV+ and came down with FIP somehow. But, the...
