    Rescue clean scoop cat litter

Using Odorlockers at the moment. Very low tracking, great odor control, inexpensive, flushable, and I can pick it up at the local Kroger. Visit odorlockers.com for further information. I certainly hope this one is a keeper!

    Feline Intelligence

Great posts people-enjoyed the stories. I personally have witnessed too much in the way of empirical evidence to argue against feline intelligence. Scarcely a day goes by that my two don't do something that makes me appreciate their cognitive abilities that much more. With such a reserve of...

    Feline Intelligence

It's been a while since I posted in the forum but I wanted to see what kind of reaction I'd get to this. This is a somewhat lengthy post but well worth it when one considers the subject matter. We've all had those moments when we've wondered just what is going on inside our cat's head and how...

    Electronic flea collars, etc.

I don't know what has happened to the search bar in this forum so forgive me if this is posted elsewhere. Does anyone have any experience with these collars that emit an ultrasonic pulse to repel fleas? I'd like to know how well they work if at all. I'm sick of putting these chemical compounds...

My last word on the ultimate food & cat litter (to date)

Chicken Soup stopped the runny stool problem for my Ragdoll. So far I'm more than pleased with this food.

My last word on the ultimate food & cat litter (to date)

I haven't posted in the forum lately due to the fact that I've been busy reconfiguring my system. I just finished today and thought I would share some information with you. Ever since I've had my Ragdoll Snowman he has had intermittent stomach problems which usually manifested as a loose stool...

    Crystal cat litter

It is known to cause respiratory distress in some cats and their humans. It's the fine dust primarily that is easily inhaled. There is information online and I believe elsewhere on this site. Apologize for the delay in responding, I've been away.

    Flea control

Anyone know anything or have any experience with this website? http://www.petshed.com/ They are an Australian based business but appear to be a reputable firm. Prices are good even allowing for freight. Your opinions are welcome.

What breed of cat has a "mane?"

I'm aware the breed is a rare one and I stand by the possibility that she could be one. I couldn't emphatically suggest that she is and neither for that matter can you insist that she isn't.

What breed of cat has a "mane?"

Sorry to post a reply to my own reply but I somehow missed the one on the Nebelung above. I do believe that is what she is. Apologize for the editing mishap prior to making my last post as well.

What breed of cat has a "mane?"

Sorry to be a johnny-come-lately to this thread. When I saw that picture my first thought was Maine Coon but you say she is too small. She doesn't impress me as a Norwegian Forest Cat although she may be but that was No one has mentioned this breed but there is the possibility you may have a...

    Crystal cat litter

I am presently using the Tidy Cats Crystals but my concern (and I haven't seen this addressed in the thread) is the crystal's principal component-silica-and its potentially harmful effects on the cat's (and human's) respiratory system. Any thoughts on this?

    Rescue clean scoop cat litter

I hate to sound like the proverbial wet blanket here but Feline Pine is what I was using until I noticed the dust that forms in the box was starting to discolour the bottom of my Birman's gloves. I switched and soon got rid of that problem. I'm using Tidy Cats crystals at the moment but the...

    Rescue clean scoop cat litter

No can do. I've used that and my Birman's urine had some sort of chemical reaction with it giving off the devil of a stink. Wheat litters are also out and the corn cob litters that I've tried have unacceptable tracking problems. Feline pine eventually causes the same sort of problem as it breaks...

    Rescue clean scoop cat litter

Anyone familiar with this brand of cat litter? It is sold on the Petsmart website but I've been able to find out precious little information on it. Any help is appreciated.

Odd behaviour at the water dish?

Thanks for the replies. I really can't see if he's testing the bowl's depth or not. He may just enjoy making a mess. He does like to play in the water as it exits the tap so there may be something to the moving water theory.

Odd behaviour at the water dish?

My Ragdoll Snowman occasionally walks up to the water dish and begins to vigorously paw at it and the area surrounding the bowl not stopping until he's sloshed a fair amount in the floor-then he drinks from the bowl. He doesn't do it all the time and if he hears me say there is water in the...

    Mats in Ragdoll's fur

My Ragdoll Snowman occasionally gets some very obstinate mats in his hair that I can't even cut out. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to untangle very fine and VERY MATTED hair? If you have any suggestions or can point me to a thread it will be very much appreciated. I brush him...

To vaccinate or not to vaccinate...?

Any thoughts on whether or not I should continue to keep my strictly indoor cats current on their vaccinations? I know there are cases where vaccines are contraindicated in humans why not cats? I worry about the potential risks. All feedback is appreciated.

    L-Lysine question

Thanks for the replies. This gives me a little more to work with when I take Snowman (my white Ragdoll) into see a specialist next week. The URL above was especially helpful. Can the L-Lysine be mixed in their water? I don't feed my cats wet food. I suppose if it won't dissolve in their water...
