    I'm pregnant with 2 cats

I'm also laughing at the title of the post You could try one of those tent cribs, but unless you have reason to think your cats would be dangerous, it might not even be necessary. My parents had five cats when I was born, and according to my mom they were completely fine the whole time I was a...

Mommy spayed - her baby is hissing at her!!!

Like others said, it's definitely the smell. Think of all the weird smells that she got on her from not only going out to a strange place, but also undergoing surgery (any chemicals, etc). She also might be producing a slightly different scent now that she's been spayed. The kitten should get...

    Is this still play?

It sounds like Midnight got so used to having those soft paws on that he lost his knowledge of when to hold back when not wearing them. He's probably scratched her with that level of strength tons of times but not had any feedback to tell him he's going at it too hard. He stopped trying to play...

Cat Kneading at 4 years old

My cat still does it and she's 15. I always think she's trying to fluff her pillow a bit before laying down on it.

    What does outstretched paw mean?

Maybe she's too comfortable to bother getting up She wants you to come to her. My cat does the outstretched paw thing whenever she wants to be petted, except in her case she often also actually pokes at my face with her paw.

    Dicipline and love

My cat used to do the jump-on-the-shoulder thing when she was a kitten, but she grew out of it once she got too big to do it easily/comfortably. Now when she wants to be picked up she'll stand on her hind legs at my feet and meow.

    Chewing

Some cats just like to chew, and cats in general tend to have a thing for plastic in my experience. The chewing isn't necessarily a problem, but definitely keep your cat away from plastic (choking hazard). Chew toys might work, or you could try convincing your cat to chew on cat grass.

    Inside Out

He might have just gotten confident enough (or bored enough) with his new indoor home that he's finally ready to go out. He's also had time to see what's going on out there through the windows, I assume, so he might just be more generally prepared. Or yeah, there might be something out there...

cat wants to play, but won't

I'm not sure what the update means, but the initial story had me thinking Memphis was just showing older cat concern for a kitten, observing the little one's hunting practice without interrupting or taking over. The part where he runs to investigate the meowing when you lock the kitten away...

Is this babyish behaviour for an 18-mo cat?

Technically it is baby-ish, since it derives from the urge to knead the mother while feeding, but it's also a completely normal adult housecat behavior. Domesticated cats keep many of their kitten behaviors into adulthood where wild cats don't. It's a good thing, too, because otherwise they...

    Hello!

I just have one cat, a grey and white tuxedo kitty named Cleo. She's starting to get on in years (15), but she hasn't seemed to slow down yet. Nice to meet everyone! Cleo is the only cat I can afford at the moment, so I love hearing about / seeing other people's
