Can't get rid of parasites! Giardia

Following up.  It's a year later now.   A few months ago, one of my kitties had a whipworm coming out of her butt, so I bought Panacur (fenbendazole) worked wonders with all of my cats. One tube as horse paste did four cats for several treatments. Maybe $10-15 @Amazon. Safeguard is another...

Is my new baby a boy or girl? Photo included!

LOL, for me it was Boys  .             Dot Girls  !              Exclamation point As I said above, boys' testicles are usually little shiny things while the girls' labia are not shiny.

    Japaneses Bob-TAIL Cat

Hi, just came back to check more things out about my JB, and realize nobody had a comment about him.  Had him for a year now, and he's a wonderful cat with great spirit. What do you think?

Can't get rid of parasites! Giardia

I'm adding on here because this is such a focused thread and so much information is here that might help others researching this issue. I came here to find if there is a pill form of Panacur, because I just gave my kitty day 2 dose, given to me in syringe by Vet Specialist.  Kitty gags and...

Can't get rid of parasites! Giardia

Why not the Panacur?  Did he have bad experiences with it?  Vet specialist put my cat on it.

    Vet pushing Science Diet

Yay!  That sounds good to me.  Cats are obligate carnivores, which means corn shouldn't be a staple of their diets (although it is of mine).  Good for you for finding a good vet!  Oh, btw, do you all know of catinfo.org (or is it com?)  Good for research. M

    Vet pushing Science Diet

I always assume tthat any vet who is selling a food has a vested interest in pushing it to make a big profit.  I'd never buy from a vet. I'd get a better price somewhere else.

    Vet pushing Science Diet

My cat never had any symptoms of urinary problems or blockage or FLUTD.  Until he did. Once that starts, it's hard to get under control.  After a few thousand dollars of treatment, he finally had to have a PU (perineal urethrostomy--removal of the penis) which was very painful for him for a...

    Japaneses Bob-TAIL Cat

He looks so much like my bobtail who wandered into my life at the end of August.  He was unfixed at the time. He's a wonderful, wonderful cats and everyone loves him.  Are you in Florida?????

Is my new baby a boy or girl? Photo included!

Ooops. BOY!  There is a dot I didn't see. That's a boy dot.  Those flares (I thought that was the urethra/vulva) are the testicles.  Either he has been Castrated, or the testicles are undescended.  Where did you get him?  If from a shelter, he was probably castrated there and the hair grew...

Moderators: Can a new 'Sticky' be started for syringe feeding?

That's a great idea!  I've syringed for almost a decade PRN.  Had a cat with FLUTD and PU, and the only way to treat and keep him with dilute urine was syringing.  Further, it is important to syringe after any pilling.  Now, I have two new cats, and boycat needs some meds, natch, and syringing!

    Clavamox question

With Clavamox, it's useful to give at least, acidophilus (best is a probiotic called S. boulardii but any acidophilus will be good) and to follow it up with syringing water.  The easiest way to administer these capsules for me, is to put the capsule in my mouth to get it slippery, and either...

    A neverending urinary battle?

Just joined and must chime in. Cats are obligate carnivores. That means their bodies are designed to process MEAT only. They really need to avoid grains, although that's a cheap way to make money for PetFood companies. A good nutritional information resource is catinfo.org. The most...
