    Goodbye Billy! :(

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Billy lived a long happy life because of you. I still think about my horse "Felicity" who I loved and adored. That is really tough. You are in my prayers.

    Food help needed

Yes...that is probably right....that vaseline will drag through.... I read from a few holistic vets that they have had some success with butter...I guess trying can't hurt for lubrication. I brush my cats regularly....they don't seem to get constipated from hairballs...they usually throw up...

    Food help needed

'Wellness' is a good product -PetGuard - Wysong - Switching up different types of proteins is good to do - also I think cats like variety as they would get in the wild. I never had problems switching wet foods around.

    Pilling a Cat

If the vet does it then you can be sure he gets it....which is why he probably wants to do it. My cats won't touch a thing with meds in it. Cats have amazing smell. Much greater than dogs. (imagine if we could train them to do rescues and searches!) Go with the way of least resistance -- it...

Brought in a stray much sooner than I had planned

GOD BLESS YOU and YOUR HUSBAND for rescuing this boy! He was crying for fear, his mouth hurt and who knows.... He was talking to you! We have 7 cats - 2 of the 7 were born outside and both rescued around one year or so old. They are joys and adjusted fantastically. Your new boy will...

How early can my kittens go outside? They are driving me mental.

Are they neutered? I assume so. They must be neutered - or they will leave and make thousands of strays in a few years. The statistics are staggering. Where do you live? Are you near any roads? Are you in the country? Unless there is plenty of open space where they will not get hit by cars -...

    Pilling a Cat

God Bless You for saving him. 'Meatball's' ' story above is a good one. Sounds lilke you know what you are doing - and this cat is just freaking out with the pills. Is there any liquid tapeworm dewormer? With syringes I always find it easier and very swift. Keep the faith. (Can't understand...

    Pilling a Cat

If it is really bad, 1. You could leave him at the vets and have them do it until the dosage is done. Is that possible? I know everything costs...but your sanity is worth a million. And since he is a rescue, they should have a 'rescue or stray' rate. If not, find a vet who helps people who...

    would this work for crystals?

Hey Alpha Cat - If your Your RX fellow is fine with that - keep it going. Like the others said...it serves a medicinal purpose. Just remember - the wet food is important for crystal control - they get a lot more water in their digestive system, therefore, running through the bladder. As far...

    would this work for crystals?

CRYSTALS!!! OH NO....I have dreams of them and they ain't something we girls would wear in a ring. I have a kitty girl rescued from life on the Long Island Railroad tracks. 'My Crystal Queen'....with 7 cats it took a long time to find out who was peeing around...many months....and then I was...

Another cat diet question, cat has chronic loose stools / diarrhea

One of my 7 cats - a big wonderful male has had chronic diarrhea now for more than a few months...with 7 cats it took a while to find out which one had the diarrhea - in the fecal, the vet found these twirling, swimming like parasites they called flagyls (I saw them - hard to see - they float...
