Orphaned kitten came into my life and I need some feeding advice.

Thanks for your reply.  I actually live in the US (the town I live in is called Boise--it is from a French word, though, le bois).  I am not sure I can get raw goats milk here.  I can check with my food coop when they open tomorrow. Anyway,  I have tried stimulating the kitten to urinate and he...

Orphaned kitten came into my life and I need some feeding advice.

So I guess I am now the official cat lady in my little neighborhood.  We have a small community market a few blocks away, and someone there found a kitten in an alley.  I'm guessing it was from a feral litter and that if the kitty was left alone, Mama would have come back, but the people who...

Cat behaving strangely after his neuter surgery

My cat Jupiter was neutered this afternoon.  The surgery was done about 5 hours ago.  Right now, he is attacking a blanket and kicking it. He has never done this before.  He seems rather agitated.  Is this part of the affect of coming off the anesthesia?  He isn't acting drowsy at all.

Stray cat abandoned by neighbors had kittens in our house today!

The little guy weighs 190 grams now!  We are calling him Mars because we have another ginger tabby named Jupiter, and because he's a feisty little survivor.  I will post pictures soon; right now I am just leaving Mama and baby alone except to check on them, feed Mama and scoop the litter box...

    Caring for 2 abandoned kittens

I have found this page to be very helpful to gauge how old kittens are. http://www.alleycat.org/Page.aspx?pid=678

Stray cat abandoned by neighbors had kittens in our house today!

Well the little bug is up to 130 grams today!  So I think he is gaining weight just fine.

Stray cat abandoned by neighbors had kittens in our house today!

Yes, I'm glad he didn't seem to suffer, but it still makes me very sad.  I just wish I could save every stray cat and kitten, probably like most everyone on this forum.   I was able to borrow a scale and the surviving kitten weights 102 grams.  Is this a normal weight for a 2 day old kitten?

Stray cat abandoned by neighbors had kittens in our house today!

Well I just went to check on the babies, and discovered that the smaller one had passed away.  He was fine the last time I checked him an hour ago. I knew something was wrong as soon as I saw he was laying about a foot away from Mama.   :(  I'm pretty heartbroken and so is my husband.  I wish I...

Stray cat abandoned by neighbors had kittens in our house today!

I will try to get some photos posted.  I can't find the cord that connects my camera to the computer, so I have to round that up first. I do have another question.  One of the babies is quite a bit smaller than his brother.  I haven't been able to weigh them because my kitchen scale broke.  He...

Stray cat abandoned by neighbors had kittens in our house today!

Thanks for all the great advice.  She seems to be content.  She is letting me pet her and even rolled over and let me pet her belly a bit.  She is purring and "making biscuits" while the little ones are nursing. Nothing feels distended--just a little swelling around each nipple.  She is nursing...

Stray cat abandoned by neighbors had kittens in our house today!

I'm not going to go into the circumstances of how she was abandoned because that's a separate issue.  Suffice it to say that I noticed this tortie inside an apartment window and then a few weeks ago they tenants moved but the tortie was still hanging around.  I tried to coax her over with some...

Could this litter have all the same father, or would it have to be multiple fathers?

I'm not sure what you mean by the term "dilute" here.  (Like I said, I'm clueless about this stuff...)  Does that mean that the father could be an orange cat like Jupiter, and carry a gene for Ash's color?

Could this litter have all the same father, or would it have to be multiple fathers?

I am caring for a litter of kittens that a stray cat gave birth to under the porch.  The Mama is a tortie.  There were four kittens, but one was still born.  One of the kittens, and the stillborn one are both torties (female of course), the only male in the litter is a mackerel orange tabby, and...

Brought in a stray much sooner than I had planned

Here's an update on Peach Kitty. He had his tooth surgery and his neuter and he's doing much better. His breath is so much more fresh now. He lost 12 teeth, including two of his canines (one upper and one lower) but he still has no trouble with hard food. I mix it with his soft food and he...

    Luna and Midnight

So adorable! I want to snorgle both of them. I love the expression on the striped kitty's face. It's like he's saying, "Hey, what's that thing you're pointing at me??"

5 month old kitten with possible food allergies

Just chiming in with my experience with a similar problem. My kitty Sasha has been very sensitive to food, with problems varying from vomiting to dermatitis on her head. The food I finally found that she can eat without any problems is Blue Buffalo. I have switched her over to Blue...
