    Raw chicken bones for cats

I gave my kitties raw chicken wings this week. They loved 'em! However, I didn't expect how messy the feast would be. Instead of chewing the wings in their bowls in the kitchen, they grabbed them and dragged them off to various places in the house! Yikes! I can only imagine the bacteria trail...

Will feeding wet food reverse my cat's UTI?

I've read a lot of articles by vets about dehydration in cats. It IS frequently due to feeding dry cat food. Wet cat food is better, but in our personal experience, raw food is best. Not only does it supply water the way nature intended, but it will provide your cats with beneficial enzymes...

    Raw chicken bones for cats

Thanks so much, all! My "kids" have been eating mostly raw for over 2 years now, but never knew that bones would be OK. This is great news, since dental cleanings are so expensive and stressful. I'm going to give it a try!

    Raw chicken bones for cats

I've recently learned that some people feed their cats raw chicken wing and neck bones. It's supposed to be great nutrition and healthy for their teeth. Does anyone do this? What are your thoughts? I know that you're never supposed to feed them cooked bones because they splinter. Thanks!

    Fussie Cat food brand

Have you discussed a raw meat diet with your fet? Our female had cystitus that was reccuring every 3 mos or so. She had been eating some raw with mostly canned. I read that canned food has a lot of phosphorous and magnesium which can contribute to feline bladder problems. Once we switched and...

    Prayers needed for my Patch

My heart aches for what you're all going through. Please give Patches our love and hugs. We'll be pulling for him. We've had issues with cystitis, too. It's no fun. Please keep us posted.

    tongue got stuck on collar

I've never heard of a cat getting a tongue stuck in their collar! I've seen cats get their lower jaws caught or their paws, but this is a new one for me. Is it really necessary to have your kitty wear a collar 24/7? I would think a break from that would feel really good to them (I mean, put...

    How unhealthy is

Hi! I wouldn't feed my cats anything Purina makes! I don't care how much my kitty likes it. I can direct you to article after article to back me up if you're interested, but the short answer is, it's low quality protein w/carb fillers--NOT an ideal diet for a cat. Especially if your kitty is a...

I don't know how to do this

Hi! I have a lot of experience feeding multiple cats. Meals are like "feeding time at the zoo", at our place but we've got a little routine and it works well. We have one slow eater, Shai, and 2 "Hoovers." Sophie also gets food supplements, so we keep them all in seperate rooms no one else gets...

Gracie needs vibes- in dental surgerie right now

Wow... you've been through so much, Carolina! I'm so-o-o glad Gracie is doing better. If you can find it, B.G (Before Grain) 96% quail or salmon is pretty watery right out of the can. The food quality is so much better than Fancy Feast. (Don't 'cha wonder what makes FF so stinky??) Love to you...

Bugsy is at the vet for the day

Hooray! So glad to hear that Bugsy may be beating this thing--whatever it was! Will he eat wet food on his own or just dry? I'm thinking that dry food isn't the best for a dehydrated cat. Much love and kisses from me and the girls. Good luck! You're a great cat mom.

    Canned food at Petco?

Our girls eat Blue Buffalo, Avoderm, Organix and Merrick's B.G (Before Grain) line (not the "gourmet entrees"). The only problem with Petco, is that they don't carry any raw cat food, which is even better nutrition.

    Question about UTI?

Please go see your vet--especially if you have a boy kitty. Male cats have smaller urethras which can become blocked with crystals. If that happens, it's an extreme emergency. And keep us posted, OK? My girl, Sophie, had been battling cystitis for 6 months, but now she's symptom-free and doing...

Introduced Tiggy to Wellness grain-free kitten food

Our girls like Wellness, too! I definitely try to avoid grain whenever possible. I'm gradually feeding them more and more raw food. I've learned that canned food, because the meat is heated when it's processed, contains a lower-quality protein than raw, and therefore makes a kitty's pee more...

Probably been asked a thousand times, but best food for the price?

Feeding cats an all dry diet is not best for their overall health and longevity. They need the high protein and moisture-content that wet food provides to prevent urinary problems. Any cat fed only dry food is, literally, always in a state of dehydration, because cats are such poor water...

Happy Birthday Isabella!!! My sweet Turkish Angora is 6 yrs old!

She's truly beautiful!! My girl, Lily, turned 7 yesterday. She got some raw chicken and a little half 'n half (her 2 favorite treats). She's all white, too. I'd post her picture, but I don't know how! How did Isabella celebrate?

Oh my gosh I am in shock, need major vibes please-*quite disturbing*

Have you looked into any outdoor cat enclosures? I'm sorry that I missed your original thread about this. You may have already addressed this, but if you own your own home, it's a great option. Depending on your budget, these enclosures and/or cat fences can be quite nice. Most important, they...
