Does anyone have experience with the rare "odd-eyed" cats (one blue and one green eye)?
I have read about them, but never encountered one. I am intrigued as they must have a very striking appearance!
Our female Ragdoll, Annie, likes to get under the covers and snuggle up against my legs in bed. I have never seen this behavior in one of our cats before; most of them would absolutely HATE being THIS confined!
She actually wakes me up by licking my face so I can lift the covers for
her to...
I assume most of Brandon's friends are 20-year-old males as well. Having once been a goofy young male myself, I might suggest that before you arrived on the scene Socks and the other cats probably did NOT receive the level of kind attention that you now show them. That could be why Socks prefers...
Our female Ragdoll, Annie, has very active and obviously vivid dreams. When she is in a deep sleep, she will often vocalize and even move her legs as if running. I can only imagine she is dreaming about chasing giant mice or running through kitty Nirvana (perhaps one and the same)!
Do your cats...
It's more about dominance than jealousy; cats are ALL about dominance when dealing with each other.
Duck is obviously the "Queen" and intends to keep it that way!
It depends on whether they are behaving or not! Just kidding: They NEVER misbehave!
We just call them by their names to avoid confusion and reinforce their identities.
I would definitely contact the vet, but I would not panic as 5 or 6 times is not that far out of the normal range. It may just be that she is feeling a little stressed and is not quite used to her new environment yet.
You know you're a kitty lunatic when you've finally escaped a never-ending midwestern winter for a Carribean cruise, but after two days you wished you were back home with your furry friends!
Personally, I've found that cats seem to be better adjusted and less prone to boredom and loneliness when they have a feline companion in addition to their human friends! You just have to take it slow when introducing a new cat into a situation where there is an established feline resident.
Due to possible health concerns, we don't give our friends access to any "weird" foods. Many foods that humans enjoy can be harmful or even fatal to cats! Better to be safe than sorry.
I have always had multiple cats and like to have a mixture of colors/patterns. It makes things more interesting than if all your friends have the same appearance! It also makes it easier for friends and relatives to identify them as individuals and interact with them when they visit!
It's a cold, cruel world out there and bad things WILL happen to cats that go outside!
With the right toys and other distractions, the indoor environment can be made just as interesting for cats.
They should be indoors with the people who love them!
Our male Charlie has found a surefire way to get me up: I have sleep apnea and he turns my CPAP machine off! The power button is on the top of the unit and he simply steps on it to turn it off. If for some reason this does not get the desired result, he will turn it back on after waiting a few...
If you look at bobcats (which are genetically closely related to our domestic kitties), they have enormous paws and almost no tails at all! It also seems that many small cats have long tails, but always have smallish paws. From personal experience, all the kittens I have seen with large feet...
