I don't think I could feed whole prey, as I don't really eat meat myself. I know my cats need it, but I avoid eating a o lot of meat myself, because of humanitarian reasons. I don't like eating animals, when I have several as my best friends.
Thanks for telling me that. I know I did my best for him, but as a cat parent, I couldn't help feeling like I did something wrong. I know I should have been brushing their teeth, I plan to start doing that.
As I said earlier, I am off work, on umployment, so I have a lot of time, but not a lot of funds. I'll check out the raw food, if it is better. What about for my old girl, the 17 year old? Would this be good for her? Or at her age would it be too much of a change?
Yes, but...how do you do raw? The few times I put meat down for my cats (cooked, leftovers) they ignored it and wanted their regular canned.
Is it frozen, and how expensive is it? I really love my cats, and want to do what is best for them.
I have three cats, 2 fifteen month-olds and a 17 year-old. I fed the 17 year old dry food, most of her life. Just a year ago, I got two kittens from two different people. Trying to do the best for them, I read that wet food is the way to go, and that dry food does not help their teeth. Well, I...
Her teeth don't look good, really. I fed her dry food, most of her life. Just a year ago, I got two kittens from two different people. Trying to do the best for them, I read that wet food is the way to go, and that dry food does not help their teeth. Well, I fed them three meals a day wet...
My 15 month old was just diagnosed with periodontal disease. He's really still a kitten! I guess you can't always judge by what shape their teeth are in. I've had this little guy since he was 7 weeks old, and although I neglectfully haven't been brushing my cat's teeth (I will now) he has had...
Yes, the first thing I thought of is a stroke. I'm hoping it isn't. Just last week she was running and playing like a kitten. She is really small, about 7 lbs, so she has always seemed like a kitten.
My husband found her dumped along the road, she was a few months old. We have had her all...
Dr. Jones told me to go ahead and give her some of Indy's antibiotics, and he'll see her on Monday when I bring him in for his teeth cleaning.
I spent over $350 last month on another cat, who has a constant nasal discharge on one side. Dr. Jones thought he may have a polyp or tumor, so I took...
That is my vet, and the 11:00 is am. I just called him. She has now eaten some cat treats and a small plate full of tuna. Her mouth seems sore and smells bad, I think she may have an abscessed tooth or something. I called, left a message and asked if I could give her some of Indy's...
My seventeen year old cat just started acting this way. Her tongue is hanging out all the time, and she is drooling? She came out with the other two cats to eat this morning when I put out their food, but she just looked at the food and then ran under the bed. I looked at her mouth, and can't...
I have a hard time getting Indy to even open his mouth so we can see his gums. The vet did say i should start trying to brush his teeth. Where can you get that enzymatic toothpaste? Pet store?
Thanks. The cats eat two meals a day of canned food (about a half can each per meal) and then I leave dry food out all the time for them. They had three meals a day up until they were a year old, and then I started feeding them in the morning and in the late afternoon/evening.
He got his...
Just got back from the vet...he has periodontal disease. The vet gave him antibiotics for 10 days, and I have to take him back in to have his teeth cleaned. I never thought a cat this young would have this problem. I have a 16-year old cat who has never had any health problems, other than a...
My 15-month old cat seems to have teeth that are still erupting through his gums. They have been that way for a few months, and they have a sore appearance to them. I thought that at this age, all adult teeth should be in. He has also been chewing on his scratching post and carpeted cat tree...
