Introducing the new to the old..?

Yep, a Vet checked them out and said they were fine. He also gave me kitten food for them. I've been trying to swap scents, but all that really happens is that the mommy cat catches a whiff of them, and then gets so worked up she starts hissing at her own kittens and hitting them around. (I...

Introducing the new to the old..?

Okay, so about a week back I found a trio of kittens that someone had dumped by the road in a box and took them in. All three of them are the most beautiful, affectionate and obedient girls I've ever met (I say girls because I speak not only of cats when I say this, but rather of humans too. )...

    What IS it?

Hello, my cat, Candy, gave birth to kittens this morning, and as I was settling them in I found this huge bald patch on her with some sort of puss or cut or something in the middle of it. I've no idea what it is, and since this is her first litter I'm afraid to take her to the Vet. Thing is...

    Young cat grinding her teeth...

I tried two collars on her and both times she left wearing one, she came back without it. I don't know if they're reaching her owner or not, but I think I might make some posters and hang 'em up. She's still grinding her teeth after she eats, though, so I'm thinking on just taking her to the vet...

    Young cat grinding her teeth...

Awesome idea! Candy doesn't seem to mind collars, so I'll put one on her an tie a note to it. Maybe it'll alert her owner. She isn't nutured, though, so I have no idea how far she travels to get to my house. I already asked my neighbors, the ones to the immidiate left and the right of my house...

    Young cat grinding her teeth...

I wasn't sure if I should put this into the Behavior board or the Health board, but I figured she might be sick and the health board would be better. A while back I found an adorable little calico, looks to be either a little under or a little over a year old, and named her Candy. It took a...

    Pregnant stray cat bleeding?

To explain, I have recently taken to feeding and trying to tame a stray cat, and I assumed she is pregnant because her nipples are big and pink and her tummy is a bit round even though the rest of her isn't. She looked like how my cat did early in her pregnancy. I don't know, however, if this...

    Memory loss? Vision loss?

I would go to a new vet, but all the other ones that are said to be any good are hours away, and I don't like to inflict that kind of torture on my cats--them being scared and yowling the entire car-ride. Still, I suppose I'll have to this time. Problem is, I won't be able to take him 'til Tuesday.

    Memory loss? Vision loss?

I took my cat to the vet just now, but I don't think the vet cares a lot. I told him how Salt was acting and gave him my idea's about it, but he just skipped past it all. "Hmm. Well, his cut might be getting infected. I'll give him a shot, and then you can rub this ointment on this patch on his...

    Memory loss? Vision loss?

Yes, his pupils did constrict from time to time, though I can only ever remember it happening twice. He does go outside, btw, he's an indoor/outdoor cat. Indoor at night, outdoor by day. I forgot to mention, his mother, Boo, started acting in a similar way a few months back, but I never really...

    Memory loss? Vision loss?

I have no idea what's wrong with my cat, Salt. He's acting really weird--as if everything in the room might eat him! His brother, Pepper, and adoptive sister Candy are both fine and normal, and Salt himself seems perfectly healthy except for a cut over one of his eyes. To explain in more detail...

Is your cat tuned in to your physical needs?

I dunno. None of my cats ever pay any attention to how I'm feeling. But there was a stray, once, who came to my house when I didn't have any cats at all, and he was like MAGIC. Seriously, I wouldn't be surprised if he was actually the kitty-incarnate of someone I knew, and he stayed only for a...

Photo Contest Entry Thread: August - Cats In The Sun

My screech of "OMGSOCUTE!" when I saw Toby was so loud it alerted my mom and she came and screeched the same way upon seeing him. Anyhoo, I have so many pics of Boo basking in the sun, I ALMOST CAN'T PICK ONE! I love taking pictures of sun-bathing kitties. Depending on where the camera is at...

    Introducing a new kitten?

Hiya! To start this off, my cat, Boo, had a litter of two kittens some 3 or 4 months back. Around 2 weeks after they were born, my friends cat had a litter of 3 kittens. I'm saying that 'cos now, at this point in time, my friend can't afford to keep all her kittens, and she's giving them away...

    Doesn't want me to leave?

So it's because of the way I pet her? Or just being petted? I mean, I have noticed that when I get to the top of her head, she gets really happy, and even stands on her back legs sometimes just so that more pressure could be put around her ears while I'm petting them. But, yeah, she does have...

    Doesn't want me to leave?

Hello! I have a 4-year-old cat called Boo who seems to get really aggressive if I try to head back indoors. She is an outdoor cat, and has not been spayed yet (The Vet is currently sick, and he's the only one I trust enough to give her the operation.) and I'm not sure what to do with her. I...

Boo, Salt and Pepper (LOADS of pics.)

Thanks, everyone! I'll inform them of your complements. Especially for Pepper, since he's a shy little guy without much confidence. But, yeah, Salt has a lotta cattitude! He's bigger than his brother and thinks himself the King of the cat-room. Even the way he walks is like a mini lion, so it's...

    Curious to know...

Well, I would bring her inside, but I can't due to my cat allergies. If I stay near her too long a time, I start getting asthma attacks. Her kittens are something around a 3/4 months old, maybe more since they're half her size. She brought them to me when they already had their eyes open and...

    Curious to know...

Well, I took her to the vet recently because she had hookworm, and the vet said that all she needed was 2 pills, one a month after the other, and that she was a very strong cat and should get better quickly, so I don't think she's sick or anything like that. Just dirty. I have attempted on...
