    Food and small intestine trouble

Thanks to folks for answering. She is eating Z/D wet, when she eats.  She had a little this morning and there has been a minor improvement in the firmness of her stools.  Not great, but a step in the right direction. The syringe feeding is an interesting idea.  But I've never done that before...

    Food and small intestine trouble

Thanks for taking the time and trouble to answer.  I'm not the one who rescued her, her bipeds are a couple who have a long history of rescues and took her in with two other troubled cats a number of years ago.  But she is a treasure and I live with her (and them) and she's an important part of...

    Food and small intestine trouble

Thanks for taking the time to answer.  She's on Hill's Prescription (we wanted her to have wet food, she hasn't got any teeth and dry can be a problem sometimes) Will look in to your suggestion :)

    Food and small intestine trouble

One of the cats I share my life with has developed a stomach/digestive system problem.  She has been under veterinary care for the last two months or so, she has had every blood test imaginable and she has had an ultra sound which has ruled out the presence of masses or tumours.  The vets have...

    Older cat - mouth oddity

May I ask what sort of thing? Like an abscess? And I have to think that dental xray would mean a general anaesthetic, does that sound right? Bless her, she has gone back to sleep so I'll leave her be for now but that's a nice idea to compare the left and right fangs for comparable length. I...

    Older cat - mouth oddity

I live with an older cat (she just had her tenth birthday). She eats mostly dry food and we have always admired how lovely and white her teeth are and how her gums are in great shape too. Over the last three weeks or so my housemates have noticed that one side of her mouth, right by her...

    Need help/advice coping

Thank you all for your kind words and thoughts, it really is appreciated. I am in the UK and actually do have a therapist for other problems but she just doesn't understand anything about pets as she has never had one. This grief is like a raincloud that follows me everywhere and I feel quite...

    Need help/advice coping

Any thoughts or comments would be gratefully received: I had to make the decision for my cat on the 4th of June last year. Her name was Artemis which I shortened to Missy which suited her just fine because she was dainty, fine boned and precious. She was old - I don't know how old as she was a...

    Emergency vet trip

First of all best wishes for you and for Sidney. Going to the emergency vet was 100% the right thing for you to do to help him. I agree with a poster above, my first thought was crystal formation. I know that he has some food he hasn't passed but I sort of wonder if the pain of trying to pee...

Chronicals of Cello, the Therapy Cat :)

I think that it is fantastic of you and Cello to do this. I live in the UK and a couple of weeks ago I saw a TV show called "Catwoman" that featured a therapy cat and the difference he made to profoundly disabled children was amazing to see and put a lump in my throat. The cat was a Ragdoll...

    Tummy Rubs

I usually find that we can tummy rub for a bit and then when over stimulated the paws slap together like a beartrap. One of the moggies adores it though and will wave her back paws about while you scruffle her plushy belly fur, her eyes closed in abject bliss.

I thought cats were supposed to be independent!

Got one like this too. Poor little Lana is a rescue job and before we had her she was very poorly treated (cats are NOT dog chew toys). For a long time she would forage and only eat dried gunk the others didn't want (we think she was told off for eating dog food). These days she is much...

Any suggestions on getting Tailer to eat?

Best wishes and to Tailer and supportive thoughts to you yourself - anyone who has been through it knows how anxious, stressed and exhausted you must be feeling right now. The advice here is better than anything I could have offered so will keep happy thoughts of your little fella chowing down

Sasha is staying at the vet's tonight

Sending good thoughts to your Sasha. Sounds like you are doing the right thing dealing with a new veterinarian - it is hard enough to cope without feeling like you don't have the full trust for your practitioner. My Apollo got blocked by crystals in the bladder/urethra. He was at my vets for...

Cat toys that aren't cat toys

My late tabbycat Artemis used to enjoy sitting on my desk and playing a game with me where i slide a coin towards her and she would bat it back. She was always quite dextrous and if I offered her a treat from a tub ir bag she could reach in and get them out herself quite neatly. The 4 moggies...

Sudden feces elimination on dining room floor, HELP!

I don't know Nokout as a product. I always used to use Simple Solution when my late (and much missed tabbycat) Artemis used to urinate inappropriately.

    Bugsy got a Claw boo-boo

Poor little fella to have a sore toe but lucky guy to have such a fantastic Mum Poppy, one of the moggies I live with, lost a claw when her two younger housemates had a mad half hour right over her while she was asleep. The force of her acceleration from fast asleep to frothing in the kitchen...

    Cat has a sore booty

She mainly eats Purina brand dried food and always has and occasionally grazes on a litle wet when she is in the mood. Other types of food are on offer as there are three other magnificent ladies, but she always goes back to the Purina and has little interest in change. We know that she...
