    Night Crazies take 2!

Our solution: Kitties now sleep in the back room/bathroom with food, toys, beds, and a scratching post. We wear earplugs. It is much better for everyone this way...and we just started doing this 3 days ago after almost 6 months of sleep deprivation.

Going on 4 months of sleep deprivation :(

So in honor of this thread, Trinity started pawing me right on cue this morning at 4 am. I tried not to react at all but she woke me up, so I shut her in the bathroom (and didn't shut Loki in with her) for the next 2 hours. I put in earplugs, but I'm pretty sure she cried the entire time. She is...

Going on 4 months of sleep deprivation :(

The crate idea is a possibility. Right now we don't shut them in the bathroom every night, so they are allowed to sleep upstairs. We shut them in the bathroom after their 4 am wakeup call on the weekends (and then put in the earplugs). Hubby already takes Zyrtec, and I wash all the sheets and...

Going on 4 months of sleep deprivation :(

My husband and I adopted 2 6-month old kittens in January. While they are a pleasure in almost every way, there is one major issue that is causing us to both lose our minds slightly. We rent our house, and the bedroom is the entire upstairs (like a loft), with no door to close it off. The only...

More help! Chicken wings, gizzards, hearts, livers...oh my!

So kitties have definitely expressed a love for the raw chicken tenderloin I've been feeding them, so today we decided to get some more balanced raw. We got the following: Chicken wings (skin on) Chicken gizzards & hearts (more gizzard than heart) A sloshy container of chicken livers that I'm...

Kitties suddenly turning their noses up at wet food?

Glad to know mine aren't the only ones! We only feed a quarter cup of orijen kibble between the two cats, we had been feeding primarily wet food. Our calico isn't interested in kibble really (and she has started to eat more wet food again...Halo's Spot Stew got her interested again!) but the...

Kitties suddenly turning their noses up at wet food?

They've done it with several kinds of food now, so I'm not sure. I did start putting out less. They wolfed down the raw chicken tenderloin I put down, so maybe they are trying to tell me they are sick of eating from a can!

For people who don't feed ground-where do you buy your meat?

...and what do you say to the butcher? I've been a vegetarian for most of my life so I've never really ordered meat from the butcher at the grocery store... For those of you who feed raw and don't grind, where do you usually purchase your meat & what do you ask for? i'm wondering esp. for RMBs...

Kitties suddenly turning their noses up at wet food?

We got our 2 kittens about 3 months ago, they are now 9 months old. They have been eating and enjoying grain free wet food as their primary diet (one of them is a bit of a kibble junkie and does get 1/4c. of orijen each night). We have been feeding a rotation of EVO cat & kitten, Evo 95% meat...

    allergies question/help

My husband is allergic to cats as well, we read a lot about it before adopting and learned that female cats are often less triggering to allergic people than males (but all of the allergy info is very YMMV). We adopted two females, and what we have done to make sure that his allergies don't go...

    chatty chatty kitty

One of the kittens we just adopted almost 2 months ago is starting to turn into a really vocal cat, too...which is really cute during the day but at night it is driving us NUTS. Also, we have one cat-free room because my husband is allergic, if we go in there she will sit outside and meow or...
