    Lights

Our 2 cats spend the nights in a bathroom and the past week or 2 I've found the lights on when I let them out in the morning and I can't figure out a way to keep them from doing it. I think it might be just one doing it when she rubs on the switch. I can't tape the switches, becuase that would...

    Vaccuming (sp?) Cats

I was using the dusting attachment this morning and our boy, Blaze, would not quit attacking it, so I got him with it (knowing that he's not scared of such things) and he layed down and rolled from one side to the other enjoying it and attacking it and just having a great time, so that will come...

    Eating With Fingers

Our silly boy has started to dip his foot in his dish and scoop up his food to eat. He is making quite a mess in doing so, but I don't know what to do to stop him. This is wet food, by the way. He'll shake off his paw when he has eaten part of it and there are specks of food on the wall around...

    Window Screens

Now that summer is approaching I'm wondering how I can keep windows open without our cats shredding the screens. We live in a woodsy area and always have bugs on the screens that would attract their attention. If we're in the same room to stop them it would be ok, but they have an upstairs room...

    Vaccinations

Word's finally getting out about over vaccinating. Our news did a brief segment stating that annual boosters may not be necessary and in some cases may do harm. I hope it will get peoples attention. Some states already lengthened the time between rabies shots. I think it's 3 years here.

New Food (at least to me)

I went by our local pet 'health food store' today and they have a new line of food in that comes in kibble, canned, and raw frozen. See it at www.naturesvariety.com. Sorry, I didn't see how to include a link here, but I'm fighting a bug and can't figure out much of anything today anyway! Maybe...

    Do any of your cats........

....sleep with their eyes half open? Enya does and is right now. Part of the time her inner lid is shut and other times not. You look at her and think she's awake, but she doesn't respond to any movement. Our dog does it once in a while too. Silly critters!

    Stinky Boy

Do male cats just have stronger scented urine? Our boy puts out much more odor than our female. He's nuetered, approx. 7 months old. They eat the same food, etc. He drinks plenty of water, so it's not concentrated urine. Thanks!

    Promising Product

I had a chance to visit with our vet yesterday after Enya's appt. and we got to talking about alternative health care for animals. She told me about a new product designed for pets that she said brought about a miraculous cure in a cat she was treating. This cat's blood count was very low and...

    Eye Problem Now!

Enya got over last weeks problem and now has an eye infection. We go to the vet in the morning, but I'd like to know of any holistic things to help her. Her eye was tearing all day and there is a thick discharge too. The whites of her eyes are red and her lower lid is puffy. I've put some...

    Laryngitis?

Our cat, Enya, has been without some of her voice for a few days now. The 2nd day she seemed like she wasn't feeling well and was very quiet and didn't want to play with Blaze. She was that way the latter part of the first day too, just not as much. Today I called to make an appt. for her, but...

    How Many........

of you have cats that don't look you in the eye very often? One of ours will avoid looking us in the eye except when she's getting fed and a few other intances. Our new boy will look us in the eye a lot. It's funny. I think Enya just has a more independant nature. Our 2 are still progressing in...

    Pain?

Sometimes I wonder if cats and dogs feel much pain. When our dog was a pup, she would crash into the patio door or something else many times a day, head first and never acted like it hurt. Now that our 2 kittens are well acquainted and playing together more, they crash into things or roll off...

    The Introductions

We have introduced Blaze to Kiara (dog) with no problems at all. I thought it would take a while, but he didn't hiss or growl at all, just acted like he'd been around her many times before. I just have to slow Kiara down once in a while when she gets too excited. He and Enya have met under a...

    Hello!

Hi! Just recently came across this site and finally was able to post. We have a dog and 2 cats, one of which we just brought home this week. 1 grey tabby and 1 orange tabby, Enya and Blaze (at least that what my daughter thinks she'll name him). Enya is 9 months old and Blaze is guessed to be...
