I was mixing some pine pellets in with the litter and they weren't using that littler box. They would sniff it but wouldn't use it.
I'm going to get some of the Stall Dry next time I go to town. I see our local Tractor Supply store carries it. Thanks for the suggestion.
I have several outside/feral cats. They have access to the heated garage where they get fed and have fresh water. I also have 3 litter boxes out there. They have been peeing around the perimeter of the inside of the garage. They also use the litter boxes. I tried putting pine pellets litter in...
I contacted the vet office this morning. They asked for me to send a pic which I did. They said I did not have to bring her in. They prescribed an ointment which I went and picked up. They said if she doesn't improve in the next 3-4 days to contact them and they will give me a different ointment...
My cat is 12 years old and has always been a very healthy cat. Last night I noticed her looking like this. She's been staying in her cat bed most of the time, sleeping. We live in a rural area so no vet available until tomorrow. Any thoughts? I have some Clavamox left from when one of the...
I have a couple of litter boxes in the garage for the ferals/outdoor cats and kittens. It's where the food is also. What is something I could use to cut down on the odor? Now that it is getting colder out they use the litter boxes more often. I've been using clumping litter and scoop every day.
Thank you so much for the wealth of information. I'm going to look into this. Never thought about putting these "meds" in piles on a plate for several cats at a time. I think this will work.
There is about 10 ferals/outdoor cats here. Does anyone have suggestions on how I could deworm and possibly treat for fleas these cats? Most of them I can't get close to. Is there an option to the liquid dewormers? Thanks for any tips.
So here's an update. The raccoon kept coming in looking for food but was not able to get on top of the freezer. The cats were able to get up there as well as the kittens. We have a toilet right there so with the lid closed the kittens could jump on there and then onto the freezer. I had a camera...
Thanks for the reply. Do not want to set up a raccoon feeding station which would only encourage more raccoons.
All of the cats and the kittens tolerate me. The kittens have gotten fairly tame as well as a couple of the adults. From the trail cam, it appears they spend most of the night in the...
The dirty bugger came back last nite and cleaned out the cat dishes. I don't have a live trap so I would have to see about getting one. I also don't have peanut butter. Do cats like peanut butter? I'm concerned about trapping one of the feral cats instead of the raccoon?
Since he was there only once the other nite and not at all last nite would it be safe to leave the food down on the floor tonite? I just hate for the baby kitties not having food all nite.
My husband has some 5 gal buckets with those lids. They came that way and he puts his fittings in them. Those buckets are too small for me. I'm using a 24 qt container that holds a 35# bag of cat food. I also use one for the sunflower seeds for the birds. It looks like this.
When I went out this morning, the food dishes had a little food left in them so I was sure the coon did not get to them. And he wasn't able to get into the closed food container. The little kitties gobbled food as soon as I put it down. I might add the mother cat is still nursing them which...
The other morning I went out to feed the outside & ferals cats. There are 4 adults and 2 - 10 week old kittens. They are fed in the garage which they access thru a pet door. The dishes were empty which is unusual. Then I noticed the container that has the food was open. I figured it was a coon...
