Would you tattoo your pets for ID purposes?

Both my cats are microchipped and tattoed. The tattoo came standard with fixing. One cat was already fixed and tattooed when we bought her. We were going to opt out of the tattoo when we were getting the other one fixed because we were getting him microchipped anyways and then moving out of...

    Werid Question

My cat has stinky anal sacs too. She's had this problem ever since we bought her last September. She doesn't scoot on the carpet or otherwise seem bothered by it herself, but it sure does stink and recently she got it on my pants and bed sheets, so it's come to the point where I really want to...

    Dry Food/Dental Health Dilemma

Interesting, I never thought it could be allergy-related. Thanks for the links Auntie. To a previous question, yes, I'm using the oxyfresh water additive.

    Dry Food/Dental Health Dilemma

Thanks for that tip! His gingivitis is clearing up already in just two days on the antibiotics, so we're going to see how he's doing once this is over and probably try mixing the two dry foods too. I really hope this isn't a life-long condition though!

    What to feed on

I have two plastic bowls and one ceramic. The plastic bowls have pretty steep sides and I do notice a bit of leftover food in the corners sometimes, but if they're really hungry they'll lick them clean like they just came out of the dishwasher! I prefer to use these for dry food, though I use...

    Long distance move

Yikes! Every travelling cat owner's nightmare! Well I think if that's the experience getting him to the vet, you should have no problem convincing the vet that he needs sedation!

    Dry Food/Dental Health Dilemma

Oh I know they have an agenda, that's why I get skeptical when they start recommending their products! Today our vet said that Max Cat wet (which I was formerly feeding) isn't too good, meanwhile the canned stuff they gave us a while back while our cat was in recovery had by-product as the...

    Long distance move

We've travelled with our two cats over a 2-3 day period four times now. They're in separate hard carriers (though the idea of putting them in one large one has crossed my mind). I cover the carriers too so they can't see outside, which seems to stress them out more. One sleeps or is otherwise...

    Dry Food/Dental Health Dilemma

So my 6 month old male has bad gingivitis (the vet was surprised), though his teeth look good. The vet gave us some stuff to put in his water, some antibiotics to help with the current infection, and a toothbrush. She also recommended we switch to a dental formula dry food - specifically she...

    Performatrin Ultra?

Haha yeah the only time I've heard of a cat voluntarily eating vegetables was a poor starved feral so desperate for food that she ate a piece of broccoli. She's ok now though

    Performatrin Ultra?

Hmm, that's interesting. I'm guessing it's one of the ingredients that's not in the regular version. What flavours have you been feeding? I've read about beef causing problems for some cats, though I can't tell if my cats are sensitive. They had diarrhea for a while, but it was likely the...

    Performatrin Ultra?

I haven't tried it yet, but I intend to, so I'll let you know if they get any adverse symptoms. So far so good with the regular stuff

    Performatrin Ultra?

Thanks again I thought the skim milk was weird too, but I thought I'd give it a try for now since they're still kittens and then try the adult version. It looks like the ingredients are the same still. I appreciate the feedback.

    Performatrin Ultra?

Thanks Snake_Lady. I've read through those threads already, but I'm still confused why this brand is perceived as not very good. Perhaps I should rephrase my question. I wasn't asking what to look out for in wet food (I've done research on the grain/by-products/etc. stuff), but why this...

What are your kitties doing right now?

Enjoying their afternoon nap, each on their respective chair

    Performatrin Ultra?

Yes, I do know how to search. That's how I found this thread. I don't see any grain products on the ingredients list. Are you referring to the kibbles? I do find it odd when they use a lot of vegetables and herbs in cat food, but all in all it seems like a reasonable ingredients list for the...

    Help with Feeding and Weight!

I have two kittens - a 6 month old soon-to-be-neutered male and a 8 month old spayed female. Until recently I was feeding them each one 3.5oz can wet and 1/2 cup dry (in free-feed) kitten food per day. The female has developed a droopy sag between her hind legs. It's not really fatty, more...

    Performatrin Ultra?

I just bought some Life Stages Performatrin (I'm guessing that's "regular'?) wet food, though I haven't tried it yet. What makes it not good? It sounds good since there are no meat by-products or wheat gluten. I'm trying to find a decent brand at a reasonable price for my two cats. It was...
