    Questions about nursing...

We have an eight day old litter - 4 boys and a girl. The girl outweighs the boys by over 50 grams! One of the boys has a marked preference for nursing on his side or on his back... when i see him I try to flip him onto his tummy, but he usually ends up flipping back. His weight is fine, and...

quick weight question for new kitties

Micha's new babies are three days old, all seem healthy and feisty Today was the first chance I had to weight them - the largest weighed in at 200 grams, and the smallest at 150. Does that sound okay to you all?

How soon can she be "fixed"??

Micha is a rescued stray - got her as a severely malnourished kitten. As we apparently misread her actual age, she managed to get pregnant before I had her fixed. She had a litter of 4, but only one survived. My vet here in Chihuahua suggested that we let her nurse the kitten for 6 to 8 weeks...

Momma cat is not very hungry?

Micha is nursing just one kitten. Both seem to be thriving (with the exception of a slighly goopy kitty eye, but not green/yellow). Baby Zack is 8 days old, and growing and developing (its so cute when he stretches!). Micha is a good mommy, although starting to feel a bit cooped up. She takes...

looks like only 1 will survive...

Hello! My little rescued cat had her first litter a couple of days ago - she is only around 9 months old, and still trying to catch up in her development after a malnourished "childhood". Unfortunately I was away, and only arrived today. My housemate (who is not much of a cat person, but really...
