I guess I should update this. She was not still pregnant. She just came out of a long heat (I did not let her outside though) and is scheduled to be spayed soon! Thanks everyone for your replies!
Ya I tend to agree that if there are any kittens left they will probably either be stillborn or not too healthy. The vet won spay her yet though due to her poor condition. We need to get her back to an appropriate weight and get her healthy again first! The vet said about two weeks might be...
Hi! Yes sorry forthe confusion I had an account here a while ago but couldn't remember the account name so made a new one! Anyways I found it through one of my old posts so I'll be using catmomma from now on!
I knew it was possible to miscarry and carry to term later in a pregnancy, but...
Hi,
Just thought I'd let you know she has finished all the contractions. I tool her back to the vet, who said they could not feel anymore kittens. She is no longer showing any nesting signs. I am guessing this means she could no longer be pregnant? I was going to bring her in for her spay in a...
I don't think the ginger is a classic, looks more like a mackerel to me, here's a picture of him from the side:
I noticed that the black classic tabby has spots on her belly like mom does, does this mean he's something other than classic tabby?
So I think I've got two giant breed kittens. I read that birth weight should be about 100g and they should gain 10g per day after that. Well yesterday the "runt" had a birth weight of 120g, the other one of 133g. Since then the runt has put on 38g to weigh 148g, and the other one 31g to weigh...
Yeah that's weird, they're kitty soulmates I think The father of this litter must also have been a ginger. Although who knows! They both look short-hair to me, what do you think?
That's interesting that she can be a tortie and look like a tabby. I am in trouble if the black tabby is a classic tabby. When I was looking at all the different types of tabby's I was thinking how beautiful the classic ones are and how I would love to adopt one one day... I understand a...
That's interesting because I noticed with Sienna (and Meeko too from the pics) that parts of her look orangey, yet I understand her brown is a dilute form of black. Is it possible to have black and orange genes? Do you know what the father of Meeko's kitten looked like?
Well she just had two beautiful kittens, so that takes the guesswork out of that! Although it's hard to tell exactly what their patterns are. You can see pics of them here: http://www.thecatsite.com/forums/sho...85#post2334885
I think the black tabby might actually be a classic tabby, which...
The ginger was 5g (after nursing a little bit) and the tabby was 4.2g at birth and 4.5g after nursing a bit. The black tabby looks like she has a unique sort of pattern, I can't wait until they start growing up a little bit!
Well I think she might be done, it's been just over two hours and nothing. As requested, here are some pics!
Here's the first born, a beautiful tabby:
Here is the second born, a beautiful ginger tabby:
And mommy with her new babes
Well she just had two! How do I tell if she's done? She's nursing and purring and kinda sleeping a bit, but it feels like there may be one or two more inside her? The first two were 30 mins apart, it's been one hour since the second birth, any ideas? Is she done? They are so cute, I will...
I was just petting Sienna's belly and noticed quite a bit more brownish discharge and then the whole area contracted. The upper belly was not contracting, but closer to her vagina was. Does this sound like early labour? Back to give her pets and check on her! Wish us luck!
I think you're right Sol, thanks for the great link! It says the following:
So a genetically spotted tabby can have their spots joined into a line, which makes them look like a mackerel, which is what Sienna is.
As for her kittens, I guess unless the father has the recessive spotting gene...
