All wet diet for 3 cats

Thank you for mentioning that the cans say to feed way more than you actually need to. I have also noticed that they will eat significantly less than what I think they will eat in a serving so I'm probably going to feed 3 or 4 times a day. The other issue I have is that with some brands they...

All wet diet for 3 cats

Ooh I didn't think about amazon either. Thanks for he reminder! Do you actually mix brands in the same bowl or do you mean you just rotate them between meals?

All wet diet for 3 cats

I've been feeding some wet, usually whats on sale at the pet food store and luckily my cats seems to love wet food matter the brand. As long as its turkey or chicken based. I didn't think to mix the lower and higher brands. And I need to look into the larger 13oz cans. Thanks!

All wet diet for 3 cats

Looking to feed my 3 cats an all canned diet. They are 10, 16 and 22 lbs. Puck, at 22, does need to lose a few. But I calculated 6 - 5.5 oz cans per day between the 3 of them, which is 180 cans a month. Does that sound right? Obviously I'll spend what I have to to keep my babies healthy but...

Multiple cat households - any tips?

My husband and I just added 2 cats to our house, making our total 6. I'm wondering how others in multiple cat households deal with the chaos of feeding and keeping a clean house. With 4 cats, I felt like I had a good system, but now with 6, it feels a little overwhelming. How do you deal with...

7 months - lost cause? We

Just a little update on my five feral kittens. They have been coming along and becoming more friendly in the last few weeks. I can pet and hold a few of them and they are getting pretty used to the routine. I come in, talk sweet and feed them. They still shy away a bit. They even come towards...

7 months - lost cause? We

Thanks for the suggestions. I will try to get one or two of them in the small bathroom and work individually with them. I agree that the room is a bit too small for all 5 at once. The room they are in now has a couple places for them to hide, but not too much that they completely disappear from...

7 months - lost cause? We

I trapped a litter of 5 ferals, about 7 months old. Tried to catch the mom, but she has been missing for weeks. The 5 kittens are in my basement (heated, carpeted). I moved everything that I could so they can't hide. If I can get close to them, they will let me slowly pet them. But they are...

    Canine tooth fell out

Thanks for the replies. I've been so worried, now that I've read up on some of the causes. I feel bad that I had no idea this was going on in her mouth. she didn't seem to have bad breath and she eats all the time. I hope she wasn't in a lot of pain. I guess I have to see what the vet says, but...

    Canine tooth fell out

My 5-yr old female's front fang fell out. Nothing left in the socket. Going to the vet tomorrow to see if the rest of her teeth have issues and to see if she has an infection. She seems fine, purring, playing, eating (dry and wet). Any ideas why this could have happened? I feed Taste of the...

Natural Balance canned for overweight cats?

Thanks so much for your reply! I'll have to see if I can get a deal of Weruva locally. I don't recall of the of my head what the price was on PFD. I also really like Nature's Variety Instinct, but unless I can get a good sale, it's usually not something I can get. Switching from dry to wet -...

Natural Balance canned for overweight cats?

I'm switching my overweight cats to an all-wet diet. I've been getting a good deal on Natural Balance LID cans - usually the chicken/green pea or the duck/green pea have been around $1. I've read on another thread that Natural Balance canned foods are about 14.0% carbs. Is that on the higher...

    Weaning from bottle

Our 3 week little guy that we took in is now 4 weeks according to the vet. I'm wondering at what point I should stop bottle feeding. He will take a few bites of the wet food, but usually stops and I give him the bottle and he'll take that for a while. Also I'm feeding him every 3 or 4 hours...

How to know if you need to stimulate

Well we have 4 indoor only cats and have fostered a few litters. Between us and our neighbor, we've been trying since we moved into this neighborhood a few years ago to spay and neuter all the ferals. We have spayed 3 moms, and one was even friendly enough to be adopted. We live near a lot of...

How to know if you need to stimulate

Thanks for moving my thread... guess I didn't even realize there was a subforum. I have seen a few adults around, but hadn't seen any kittens until today. And this is the only one I've seen, but you're right.. there are probably others. I've got a trap, and hoping to capture/spay the ones I can...

How to know if you need to stimulate

I brought in a feral kitten, probably 3-4 weeks old, eyes are a little bit blue, but fading. I found her in my shed and waited for hours for the mother to come back. It's getting cold out, and she's been crying, so I'm taking her in. She can walk pretty well - not wobbly as say a 2/3 week old...

Food options for hacking/coughing caused by possible allergies?

Yeah, I'm definitely going to talk to the vet about getting an x-ray. I have no idea it's asthma or allergies, or even what he could be allergic to. The TOTW Rocky Mountain formula has a mixture of many ingredients, and Puck has been eating it since he was a kitten (he's now 15 months). I also...

Food options for hacking/coughing caused by possible allergies?

I've posted recently about my 2 yr old male who frequently hacks or coughs, but no hairballs come up. I was told by the vet that his lungs sounded fine and that, outside of losing a pound or two, he was completely healthy. Well, he still hacks every few days. I may try a different vet, or ask...

    fighting continues

That makes a lot of sense. I probably don't reward them enough when they are doing good. Puck needs to lose a few pounds so I've been avoiding treats, but I should probably still praise him when he is good. I think part of the trigger could be their affection for me. Both seek me out and try to...
