    Cat that fetches???

Miles used to fetch, but not much anymore. Here's a video of Zoe fetching She used to fetch endlessly, to the point where I had to ignore her or hide the toy. She got better about that as she got older.

    Zoe 2008-2010

On Feb 1 I had to have Zoe put to sleep. She was acting a little mellow for a few days, but I didn't think much of it until one day I noticed she was breathing really fast. I took her to the Vet and they weren't sure what was wrong but because of x-rays they knew she had a fluid build up in her...

    litter box question

I want to switch my cat from a regular box to a booda dome. Any recommendations for the transition ? I wanted to try avoid any possible accidents. The covered box would help alot with him scattering litter all over the floor.

does anyone else have cats that come when they're called?

Miles comes when I call him most of the time, and he will even respond if I whistle. Zoe pretty much ignored me when I called.

    Flushing the toilet

Miles used to be fascinated by toilets but grew out of it. He would run into the bathroom and stare at the toilet when I flushed. I had the lid down, but the noise was what attracted him. He also would play with the handle and sometimes flush the toilet himself. He would also pull the plug out...

    odd tail chasing behavior

My cat Miles has always chased his tail when hyper since he was a kitten. He is now going on 8 and still does it. He used to not make much noise when doing it, except when he bit it good and then he might growl. Over the past year though, he has added an odd twist to it. He has started hissing...

    cats not playing

I've had Zoe(1.5 years old) for over a year and her and Miles(8 years old) still don't play much at all. Its frustrating cause they both get wound up and haven't figured out they could play with each other without having to depend on me. Sometimes they will chase each other for a minute or two...

    in search of toy

I dunno if he would like any of those or not. It vibrated, but he pretty much ignored that it was vibrating. He just loves it for some reason.

    in search of toy

Miles has had a toy mouse since he was a kitten and its getting to the point that it might split open. Its about the only toy besides a turbo scratcher that he will play with on his own. He carries it around at night talking to it while he tosses it, rolls with it, and carries it around. I have...

trying to get cat to eat more

Miles, my 7 yr old male has had trouble adjusting a set feeding schedule. Up until 9 months ago, I free fed him dry food and he ate his fill, and was even a little on the heavy side. He was around 14 lbs, and I think the vet would have liked him to be around 12. He ate roughly 1/2 a cup of Iams...

    Cat Voice Differences

Zoe just makes a brrrrr sound, like the suprised kitty sound in place of meowing. Every now and then she gives me a soft eew. Miles has a variety, most of the time a normal meow, but when he's hungry just a loud ooowww. He makes a weird eh like sound along with chittering at bugs. He also...

    Kitten eating older cat's food

I have the same problem and I've had to keep them seperate during feeding time for approx 30-60 minutes so Miles can eat all of his food. I shut Zoe in the upstairs bedroom with her food and feed Miles downstairs twice a day. Shes a little fat girl and will eat everything in sight if I let her...

    no meowing

I've had Zoe for 5 months and she hardly ever meows. She mostly makes the sound that cats make when you disturb or suprise them. The only times ive heard her meow are when she gets her claws caught on something, and on trips to the vet where she meows non-stop. Not really concerned, its just...

    scooting

I haven't noticed anything unusual around the area, and no worms visable in the poo. He did it for a couple of days a month ago and then nothing. He doesn't travel well, since he doesn't like to be picked up its quite a chore to even get him in the carrier. He's skiddish around other people...

    scooting

For the past couple of days Miles has started scooting. Unfortunately he has chosen my bed as the main place to do it. What are the primary causes for this, just irritation and worms ? If its worms is there anything else that I could look for ? He has been going to the bathroom as usual and...

    new toy

It was either a skink or a racer. Not sure if it got flushed out by one of the cats, but at least I had a chance to save it before it could have met an ugly death.

    new toy

The lizard reappeared today, Zoe had it pinned down and I managed to get a hand towel and throw it outside. I think it was ok, but she could have messed up its back legs because it was moving fairly slow.

To much time watching the dog?

Miles used to fetch all the time. If I gave him one of the strips you twist off the top of a jug of milk, he would always jump up into my lap with it and drop it and look at me til I threw it. He would bat it around and eventually bring it back, or bat it under a door or appliance. Now Zoe...

    new toy

Today I noticed Zoe going crazy playing with something. By the time I got up to see what it was, I saw a lizard dash under my TV stand. Zoe was still playing with half of its tail that she had bit off. Now I get to wait to see if Zoe or Miles will find it because I can't see anything or move...

    possible eye issue

I do have another cat, Zoe, a 7 month old kitten. They don't play a whole lot yet. But it could have happened in one of their brief play fights. He looks fine for hours, and then he will wink for a while, and then its fine again.
