Well, I'm at work now. I went home on lunch to check on her and she seemed to be doing a little bit better. She peed once in the hour I was there, and while it wasn't a lot of urine, it was more that a few drops.
She is still on the baytril, and has a least another week to go on it. I have my...
Well, I actually do live right down the street from a major vet university and hospital. I guess I could ask for a referral, but I'd prefer to stay with the vet that's been seeing her, at least for right now. I'm a graduate student, so even though the vet I go to is VERY reasonable, the $500+...
Hi everyone, I remember you guys being so helpful when Piper was dealing with her allergy problems, I'm hoping you can help again. Hold on, this is a long story
My cat Piper is a spayed, just over 1 year old female. Awhile ago, I believe in August, I noticed she kept scratching in the litter...
She's doing just fine as of lunchtime today. It's been three days since she ate it, do you guys think it should have passed yet? I don't know what the normal mouth-to-litterbox turn around time normally is
I called the vet this morning. I didn't get to talk to the actual vet but I do know the woman who answered the phone and I trust her the most of the vet techs. She thought that it should have no problem just passing through, that it would mix up with food and just come out. So I'll just watch...
Hey all, please help as I'm pretty worried about my kitty right now and don't really know what to do.
I woke up this morning to my cat crunching on something, at first I figured she'd found a bug but when I went over to grab in out of her mouth, there was nothing there, so she must have...
Piper drops her ball on my face while I sleep. Although, I think she's just trying to get me to play fetch with her. No matter how many times I keep taking the ball off, she'll keep putting it right back on.
My mom only has one kidney and it hasn't given her any problems. On the other end of the spectrum, my old boss had 3 and they all worked together well.
Never had I cat with one kidney, but I'm guessing she'll be just fine. Good luck!
My cat ate some FF Tuna last night with no problems. Going to hold off giving her anymore until I hear some more from you all. Thanks for the heads up!
I use Tidy Cats Scoop with the Crystals. Unfortunately, this was the last of it, as I finished it up the last time I changed the box. I get the 20 lb jug from Walmart. Because it's plastic, I can't imagine something getting inside to lay eggs, unless it occurred at the packing facility, which I...
really? That's it, I'm just dirty?? Huh... I normally scoop the box every other day and do a complete litter change about every week and a half or so. I only have one cat, so I thought this was enough. You think I should scoop everyday, I should change all the litter more often, or both??
Poor...
So last night I went to clean out the cat box, took off the lid, and oh dear... there are bugs. I'm assuming they were fleas because the were small and not flying. Just crawling all around in the litter. Needless to say, I have no idea how they got there. My cat is indoor only and no other...
When I adopted Piper, on her paperwork she had an estimated birthday of August 5, 2007, so that's what I went with.
For my dogs, since they didn't come with a "birthday," we just celebrate their "Happy Adoption Day" every year.
When I was growing up we had a neighborhood dog. We had just moved in, and this real friendly, gentle, black dog comes walking up to the house like he knows us. Just sits down outside. We were worried he was lost, ran next door to ask the neighbors if they knew anyone with a dog like this...
Now let me just say, I'm not a vet. I don't work for a vet, I don't have a neighbor that is a vet, I don't have a sister that dated a vet, and I didn't stop next to a vet at a red light this morning. But...
From those numbers, it seems like the only levels that are very abnormal are the sugar...
Not my kitty. She's deathly afraid of me when I'm in the shower. She sits right outside, normally on the toilet, with her eyes so wide. I poke my head out every now and then to check on her, she normally meows and runs scared far away from me. When I get out, she starts doing crazy Nascar-style...
Piper wakes me up every morning by dropping her ball on my face until I get up and play fetch with her. I didn't teach her though, she just did it. Sorry I can't help!
We had a cat that used to hang around our backyard that was a Polydactyl. He was tame so I always assumed he was someone else's outside cat. But we used to feed him and play with him every now and then.
We called him Thumbs.
So from what the first vet told me (same clinic just saw a different vet that day), spirochetes naturally occur in the intestinal lining in all cats. Normally, the good bacteria keep them in check unless stress, bad food, or something else throws off the natural healthy balance and the...
