    Im crying over my kittens

You're going to go through this separation heartache every time your momma cat has a litter you can't afford to look after. Not to mention what the momma goes through physically having that many pregnancies, and filling the shelters with more cats who need homes. Borrow a trap or get a sedative...

Looking for a Home for a Beautiful White Cat

I'd just like to say I know the original poster in real life, and she really HAS done everything she can for this cat. I redirected her to this site because I forum troll here regularly and I was really hoping someone could help her. Thank you for your reply White Cat Lover, I hope your friend...

    Human babies and cats :D

Urrgh Im getting cross now because my doctor made me feel like a bad mommy-to-be for not throwing my cats into the street and never seeing them again. I think I might just replace him, now you've all confirmed he was being overly dramatic. Ive been tested for toxoplasmosis immunity and it came...

    Human babies and cats :D

Just out of interest - why wouldn't you use a net over a crib? I think we'd have the baby in our bedroom when he/she is a newborn, and our cats all sleep on our bed, so ideally, Id like something to keep them off the crib without being kept out of the room..

    Tiger's TP troubles

We keep ours in the bathroom cupboard with a childproof lock on it I never worked out how to get Lyra to stop eating it. The childproof locks are installed all around our house now because I was tired of waking up to emptied cupboards. Furry menances lol

How does it work? (possibly wanting to adopt but unsure about current cat)

Getting a second cat was the best thing we ever did for our first cat. We adopted him when he was 4 weeks old, and (like yours) not well socialized. In fact, to this day he's the most skittish of our 3 cats. However bringing our 2nd cat home brought him out of his shell. It took around a month...

New Adoption - only 5 weeks old today

I brought a kitten home last night thats only 5 weeks old today (I know they should be left with mom for a few more weeks, but the situation prevented it). Now she's home with me though, I want to make sure she's getting everything she needs. My other 2 cats were 12 weeks and 16 weeks old when I...

    Table pouncing

Our cats are both OBSESSED with lying on keyboards too. We have 2 laptops and 2 PCs running near enough all day long and they bounce between keyboards to try and find one to sit on. Id love an answer to this too, but I suspect shutting the cats in another room while you work, or swinging a Da...

    The key to socialized kittens...

Im 23 years old and currently waiting on my newest kitten to be weaned off her mommy!! Shes 16 days old today and ALREADY it seems like Ive been waiting a lifetime!!! I can see why he cried. Its sad missing all the socializing and wobbly stages of the kittens first weeks. I wish I could've taken...

I think my 1 year old cat is playing too rough with our new kitten. Help!

I went through the same worries when I brought my youngest home. Id say let them have run of the house together. If there was going to be real violence you'd have seen it by now. Sometimes my 2 look like they're killing each other, but then they just bounce back for more!! Kitties like play...

Changes - need ideas about feeding (long)

Thanks, I wasn't sure an 'all stage' was suitable, it always sounded like a bit of a con to me. As for Hills, the vet said no to our other cats eating it. You mention feeding them bones? What kind? Cooked/raw - clean or with meat? I think he'd like that, he's a chewer. Plus it would give my...

Changes - need ideas about feeding (long)

Hi! I have 2 cats, an 18 month old with teeth issues who has been ordered by the vet to eat a prescription dry kibble (Hills). I also have a kitten (8 months) who is a little fat for her size, and greedy, so in the same vets trip my vet said to stop wet food feeding in my house all together...

    Non-clay litters?

I havnt actually tried it... someone else might be able to fill you in! One of the reasons I LOVE it so much though is that it eliminates so much odour. Ive never had a problem with smelly trash, or a smelly box. Believe me... I DO have smelly cats!!! The litter does a wonderful job of taking...

    Non-clay litters?

To Tamgirl99, no I havnt tried NM or any other corn based litters. For the longest time I was a Fresh step crystals fan, but on getting a second kitten it was getting too soggy too quickly and cost a fortune. The first alternative I tried was Feline Pine and I settled with it because Im so happy...

    Non-clay litters?

I changed to feline pine pellets around 2 months ago and i LOVE it. So much cheaper than crystals, it doesnt need a full change for 3 weeks or so (depending on how many cats you have I guess, I have 2). It was hugely different to the fresh step crystals I was using previously, but neither cat...

    it's always something...

My kitten had coccidia when we adopted her, and she quickly gave it to our resident cat The treatment is very easy to administer, very cheap to get, and our vet put both cats on a 3 week course. 5 weeks in, our kitten STILL had problems, so she went on another 2 week course. The eggs are hard...
