I have 2 female cats (both spayed and indoors only). Ashley is around 3.5 years old and is 10-11 pounds. Whitney is around 1.5 years old and is 8-9 pounds. They're both about the same length, but Ashley lays around a lot and therefore always looks like she pregnant whereas Whitney is fairly...
My cats will take things and play with them but usually leave them in the middle of the floor rather than stash them somewhere.
Speaking of "thieving", this picture is currently the most recent one on ICanHasCheezburger.com (of course, that will change soon).

Thanks for all of the replies. I really think she was just trying get rid of it since she didn't like it. I've switched foods to Friskies (yes, I know it's not premium) which she really likes and I haven't seen her do this since.

What does it mean when a cat makes a burying/scratching motion around the food bowl after eating? Is she trying to get rid of the food or save it for later or what? Whitney (who is probably 14-15 months old) does this at least once a day. I don't think she's really fond of the food (Wellness...
My local pet store has started carrying a new cat food called "Before Grain" (http://www.beforegrain.com). Does anyone here have any experience or opinions on how it compares to other cat foods?

They always try to drink out of my cereal bowl so the past week or so I've been giving them their own small bowl each morning. I haven't noticed any diarrhea in the litterbox so that's why I don't think they're having any lactose issues.

I've read that most adult cats have lactose issues and therefore shouldn't have milk. However, neither Charlie nor Ashley seem to have any issues with it.
Are there any other reasons I shouldn't give them a little bowl of milk each morning?

For the last year or so that I've had cats I've always considered the top of the refrigerator (about 6ft tall) as a "safe" place. About a month ago I got another cat Charlie (2yr male, cream tabby) and he has proven that wrong at least twice now.
The first time I saw him jump up there he went...
One of my local feed stores has started carrying the Exclusive brand of dog and cat food and I was wondering what people on here think of it. I tried searching for "exclusive" but obviously got a ton of unrelated results.
Here is the product page and here is the ingredient list:

That's good to know about the higher calories. Ashley has gained over 2 lbs in the 3 months I've had her and while she's certainly not overweight I really don't think I need a higher calorie food.
As for the free bag, the local shelter also primarily gets Purina and the others so I'm sure the...
I adopted a new cat Cricket (16mo female, solid black w/ copper eyes) and the shelter included a free 4# bag of Felidae Cat & Kitten dry food. Searching on here I've found opinions on the Felidae canned food but not much on the dry formula.
Anyone have any good/bad opinions on the Felidae Cat &...
I had Missy put to sleep yesterday. She developed an intestinal block which would have required surgery to correct and I just couldn't justify the $1000+ expense.
When I got her in December I was told she was 4 months old, which would make her right at 1 year old this month.
