Kitten Pinning Down And Biting Older Cat?! Help!

My oldest cat, Jack, is 11. I have had him since he was 8 weeks old. In April a stray cat brought her 4 week old kittens to my back yard. I kept the only male. I kept them separate and introduced slowly. The kitten is now going on 5 months old (and is not yet neutered) and he is non-stop energy...

Teach Kitten Not To Bite Hands?

How can I teach my 12 week old kitten not to bite my hands? I've read about many different techniques . I've read to sternly say "no." I've read to say "ouch" loudly. I've read to use a squirt bottle. What's the best way? Any suggestions?

    Vet dilemma with older cat

My oldest cat, Asher, is 9 years old.  Over the years he's gotten really bad about going to the vet.  He's gotten to the point that when he goes he hisses, swats, bites, growls, runs, hides...he becomes EXTREMELY aggressive.  No one can come near him so we just had to go back home.   I have...

    Aggression or play?

A little background information. Asher is almost 7 and we have had him since he was 6 months old. He was either a stray or feral when we found him. He was an only cat for four years and then we found Jack, who is almost 3. We found Jack when he was only a few months old. We did the whole...

    Persistent meowing at 3AM?

I have two cats. One is almost seven (Asher) and the other is almost three (Jack). Asher seems to have developed a new and very annoying habit. Almost every night around 3 or 4 AM he begins persistently meowing. If the bedroom door is closed he will sit outside the door and meow. If it's...

    Going outside?

My oldest cat used to go out on a leash and harness (because otherwise he would run off). We would tether the leash to something so he could roam around a little bit in the yard. We've since moved and I've kept him inside only. I feel so bad because he really enjoyed going outside and laying...

    Friskie

My mom had to send her kitty of 18 years to the bridge Wednesday. She had Friskie since I was 11 years old. She was such a sweet and loving girl and so spoiled! She was a momma's girl for sure. I remember when I started driving Friskie would watch out the front window of my mom's house and...

    Scratching fur off chin

I just noticed an area on the bottom of Jack's chin where he is scratching the fur off. I don't see any skin discoloration or anything on his skin. I have seen him scratch this area often. What could this be? Do you think this warrants a trip to the vet or just a close eye for now? Thanks!

    Webbed feet?

I was just wondering if some or all cats have webbed feet? I was feeling both of my kitties paws and noticed that have "webbing" between their toes. It feels similar to my dad's Labrador's paws (they have webbed feet).

    Throwing up after eating

I have two cats. I had to switch their food from Fancy Feast canned food to Purina UR because one of my cats has crystals. The vet said it would be ok to feed them both the UR. They've been on it for about a month. The one cat that doesn't "need" it has been throwing up after eating for the...

    How much to feed?

My oldest kitty Asher is 5 1/2 years ol and Jack is just over a year. Asher is my big boy (not fat or overweight at all, just a large cat) and weighs about 16lbs. Jack is smaller and weighs about 10 or 11 lbs. I just got them switched over to an all wet food diet and have been buying Fancy...

Older cat keeps attacking younger cat

I have two cats Asher and Jack. Both are males. We've had Asher for 5 years. He was an only cat until last summer when we found Jack and brought him home. Jack was about 8 weeks old when we found him. We kept them separate and did the slow intro thing. Asher wasn't happy about another cat...

    Skin on foot pads

I noticed on one of Jack's pads on his back foot there is skin peeling off. It's still attached to his pad and it's about the size of the whole pad. Is this normal? I've never noticed this on him before or on my other cat.

    How long before improvement?

As some of you know my kitty Jack went to the vet Tuesday and was diagnosed with a UTI and they also saw crystals in his urine. They gave him an antibiotic shot (Convenia) that is supposed to last 2-3 weeks. I was just wondering when I should start to see an improvement in Jack? He still...

    Switching food for urinary reasons

Well, I got Jack back home! He had a UTI and after looking at his urine under the microscope the vet said he also had crystals. He got an antibiotic shot and they gave me some metacam to give him also. They told me I needed to switch Jack's food. Right now both he and Asher get Purina Cat...

Fur thinning near eys and ears

Ok. I think my other cat might have an issue now too. I just noticed that the fur from his eyes to his ears looks very thin. I mean from the right angle you can see right down to his skin it's so thin. It looks kind of like he's scratched it off in that area. I can't take Asher to the vet...

Going to the litter box but not "going"

I've noticed today that my youngest kitty Jack, who is a year old, has been visiting the litter box several times today but he's not actually going to the bathroom. He goes through all the motions...squatting and covering up but nothing is there. He doesn't appear to be straining or in any...

Kind of odd behavior with toy

My oldest kitty, Asher has a favorite crinkle mouse toy. It's several years old and tatterd but he still plays with it from time to time. I've noticed that everyone once in a while I'll be sitting in the living room and Asher will go get his mouse, hold it in his mouth and walk down the hallway...

    Help...diarrhea-very water!

Asher has had bouts of diarrhea for the past week or two. It's very watery. He eats Jack's kitten chow, could that be the culprit? I try to keep their food separate but sometimes it's hard and Asher gets into it and Jack gets into Asher's. He's also been pooping outside the litter boxes...

    Still pooping on the floor!!!!

A while back I posted about Asher, my 4 year old resident kitty, and how he started pooping on the floor. It's not that he's missing the litter box, he goes a good couple of feet and around the corner from it. I thought it might be that I switched his clumping clay litter to WBCL so I switched...
