I sure hope so. Jack has always been 2nd in command. I had to put my oldest, Asher, to sleep a month ago. He was 14. He and Jack had been together all of Jack's life and Asher was definitely the alpha male. They got along just fine but were never best friends. I almost feel like poor Jack...
My oldest cat, Jack, is 11. I have had him since he was 8 weeks old. In April a stray cat brought her 4 week old kittens to my back yard. I kept the only male. I kept them separate and introduced slowly. The kitten is now going on 5 months old (and is not yet neutered) and he is non-stop energy...
How can I teach my 12 week old kitten not to bite my hands? I've read about many different techniques . I've read to sternly say "no." I've read to say "ouch" loudly. I've read to use a squirt bottle. What's the best way? Any suggestions?
I do keep an eye on everything, and honestly he could probably use a teeth cleaning. He hasn't been experiencing any other problems, he seems very healthy. Honestly, I don't think it's the vet. He would react the same way no matter where I take him. He was nearly feral when I found him at 6...
I think they did do some blood work at that time. Everything was fine. He is just fine at home as well. That's a good idea about the metal trap. He's a big boy, about 16lbs. He's very sleek, always has been, just a big cat :) Thanks for the recommendation!!
My oldest cat, Asher, is 9 years old. Over the years he's gotten really bad about going to the vet. He's gotten to the point that when he goes he hisses, swats, bites, growls, runs, hides...he becomes EXTREMELY aggressive. No one can come near him so we just had to go back home.
I have...
He does have a small bowl of dry food but maybe I should check it before I go to bed and make sure it's full. Maybe that is it. When it's not full he will lead us to it and make sure we fill it. Thanks!
A little background information. Asher is almost 7 and we have had him since he was 6 months old. He was either a stray or feral when we found him. He was an only cat for four years and then we found Jack, who is almost 3. We found Jack when he was only a few months old. We did the whole...
I have two cats. One is almost seven (Asher) and the other is almost three (Jack). Asher seems to have developed a new and very annoying habit. Almost every night around 3 or 4 AM he begins persistently meowing. If the bedroom door is closed he will sit outside the door and meow. If it's...
I had this happen when I found and brought him my second kitty Jack. I didn't realize he had fleas. He got infested and then my other cat got them. They were everywhere. I talked to my vet and he said to start them both on Advantage. He also gave me some Knockout flea spray area treatment...
My oldest cat used to go out on a leash and harness (because otherwise he would run off). We would tether the leash to something so he could roam around a little bit in the yard. We've since moved and I've kept him inside only. I feel so bad because he really enjoyed going outside and laying...
My mom had to send her kitty of 18 years to the bridge Wednesday. She had Friskie since I was 11 years old. She was such a sweet and loving girl and so spoiled! She was a momma's girl for sure. I remember when I started driving Friskie would watch out the front window of my mom's house and...
I just noticed an area on the bottom of Jack's chin where he is scratching the fur off. I don't see any skin discoloration or anything on his skin. I have seen him scratch this area often. What could this be? Do you think this warrants a trip to the vet or just a close eye for now? Thanks!
I have all kinds of nicknames for my boys too.
Asher- Asher Basher, Asher Bo-Basher, Buddy, Bubby, Big Boy, Bubba, Bubba Wubba, Kiki Boy
Jack- Jack Poo, Little Poo, Pooparoo, Jack Bo-Back, Little Kitten
I don't know where I came up with some of these!
I was just wondering if some or all cats have webbed feet? I was feeling both of my kitties paws and noticed that have "webbing" between their toes. It feels similar to my dad's Labrador's paws (they have webbed feet).
