    New to premium cat foods

my kitties (6 mos.) love Merrick's wet and California Natural's Dry and both are very good for them too. I've also taken to hiding the food and treats in the cat castle and having them hunt for it, so to speak.

My Review of Precious Cat Litter

I'll second the notion that Cat Attract has much less dust than other similar clumping litters. I have two kittens and wanted to get them on a mix of swheatscoop and world's best, but only one likes it. The other prefers Cat Attract or something similar, such as Precious Cat. I hate the dust...

    Nightlights?

The relatively new LED nightlights are fantastic. I mean they are going to last for years and years and you can buy them for something like 3/$5.00 LED lighting is the wave of the future for all indoor lighting...

my cat won't sleep at night!!

Yes, it is natural and you should expect her to be up at night. You can't sleep, even with the door shut? How about another cat? Maybe they'll keep each occupied while you sleep.

    changing to natural diet

California Naturals is a great brand of dry. They were not involved in the recalls, even by association and don't use Menadione Sodium Bisulfate Complex. I feed my kittens as much Merrick's wet as they want wet twice a day (sunrise and sundown) and leave out some California Naturals at night...

    Sweetie killed Da Bird

It is by far the best toy for indoor cats. They go insane for it. My kittens will chase it endlessly around the house, doing backflips in mid-air, etc. They're going to be very strong after this "da bird" training. Just do a web search for it, you'll find many retailers that carry it.

    Odd behavior at feeding time

that is very funny.... When I first got him, seven used to put toy mice in his food and I really didn't think anything of it.

    Soda and Seven

Haha your're the first amongst many people to hear about these kittens that has picked up on where their names come from. But, I never take credit for making them on, only borrowing them from the great Costanza.

    Soda and Seven

They're both about 5 months old. Soda was adopted a couple of weeks prior to Seven. Beautiful Soda (female). Seven (male), baffled by the bubbler. And on the seventh day (of their introduction) I rested as the kittens became fast friends. Chillin' in their cat condo. Thanks again...

    No room at the Inn

I received a hot-knife in the mail today and built the cat condo tonight. Thank you again for the pictures and information. Seven and Soda thank you too.

    Odd behavior at feeding time

Sometimes it can be very funny to watch their jungle instincts play out in the household.

My cat is afraid of the vacuum.

My female kitten will run and hide when I start the vacuum, but the male doesn't seem to notice. It's kind of funny to note these differences in their behavior. My male notices quick movements and bursts of brightness on the TV but the female doesn't appear to know that the TV exists as a...

    Odd behavior at feeding time

That is fascinating! Maybe they "bury" it in order to hide it (as with defecation and urination)? I feed them mostly Merrick's canned wet and some California Natural's dry food. Liking the food does not appear to be a problem as he always eats when either is offered and is growing quite quickly.

    No room at the Inn

Yes it's duct tape. It works better with extra-strong boxes, but I think some flaps (that they jump on more than others) will open eventually and will have to be repaired. But it's really funny to watch them stick their heads out the windows, sleep together in one of the boxes or chase each...

    Odd behavior at feeding time

I'm not too concerned about this, but was curious if anyone else had seen their cats do it. I've watched my male kitten scraping with his paws around the food dish as if he's looking for something....one paw at a time and only around the food dish during feeding times. It's not as if he has...

    No room at the Inn

I ordered the hot knife, but in the mean time decided to build Cat Tower I out of boxes from Home Depot. the second picture shows Soda and Seven relaxing together in the dark room on the bottom floor which can be seen in the middle of the bottom row (no windows).

    High-wall, roofless litter box idea

Thank you all, I will try again with wire cutters and a dremel.

What food do you use and WHY:)

I recently switched from Evanger's canned to Merrick's canned and it seems that my kittens love both equally as much. This is good, because I think the Merrick's is better for them. When you open the can, the contents are not all in one huge chunk and they do not contain menadione sodium...

    Hummingbird Hunter

I'm kind of surprised to hear that your cat can catch them...I have a hummingbird feeder and they never fly low enough for my kittens to even have a chance. Than again, they haven't had much outdoor hunting practice, basically only going onto the porch and back again.

    High-wall, roofless litter box idea

Rubbermaid SnapTopper Crystal Clear Box - 60 qt Rubbermaid Revelations Storage Box - 66 qt Purchased at Home Depot for roughly $10.00. If anyone can figure out what tool we can use to cut these neatly and accurately, than they would make a great roofless, high-wall litter box for the litter...
