My girls did this a number of times when they were tiny. All it took was adding a second litter box and some extra training and diligence on our part and it cleared up.
I don't even try to find all the rattley mice we bought over the past two years, anymore. Give them a tin foil ball or a twist tie and they have a grand old time.
Are they ALL like that??
OMG, doesn't that just bring tears to your eyes?? That poor little cutie, so badly injured ... still wants to play and has that glint in his eye!
Will to live?? I would say so!!
Aw, she's a beauty! My Mischief is similar in personality: hates to be picked up but loves to be petted and purrs like crazy.
I'll never understand how people can just leave animals behind like that, when they leave. Good of you to take her in. Are you planning to keep her or find her...
I'll betcha that was a nice gooey mess to clean up later! Wonder what the result would have been if you'd gotten your daughter to open if for you? (depending on her age, of course. )
This what my husband and I are like with our cats too. One of the ladies from the Humane Society (that we adopted them from) keeps telling me that when she dies, she wants to come back as one of my cats!
I have one cat that likes to scratch on sisal rope posts and another cat who prefers to use carpeting. We have posts covered with both and we have a chunk of carpeting attached to a wall upstairs and downstairs. We also bought a cat stand that is covered in carpeting. The cat loves it.
