Hi all, sorry to trouble you but I need some help. My 19yo cat Petey is dying and we can't find a vet to help do this humanely -- the only place I could get hold of was the university vet med and the students there were partying (it's spring break) and the girl I talked to clearly didn't believe...
The x-rays were done at different angles, and my vet as well as radiologists at the local university vet med center looked at them. While my vet thought there was slight cardiomyopathy, the vet med center felt the heart was in the normal size range. Simon's blood work also came back normal...
Hi guys. My 9-year-old cat Simon has some weird breathing in his sleep that is confusing all of us, vet included. The wheezing is in his sleep, but once a week or so he coughs like he has a hairball that can't come up. An x-ray has ruled out asthma.
It all started a little over 2 months ago...
The vet has suggested my cat Simon get 12.5 mg of Benadryl for allergies. He won't take half a human pill because he can taste it (probably because it's been cut in half) and he just drools it out. But if the children's tabs are pretty large, he won't be able to take that either, so I thought...
The vet said she didn't test for parasites, but will if the diarrhea lasts for another couple days or if the other cats start having diarrhea. She did think he was scooting because of the loose stools. I guess the anal glands don't get "used" unless the cat has normal/firm stools. Today he's...
I don't think he was checked for parasites. I left a message with the vet student to ask. Simon's entirely indoors, he hasn't been outside (except in a carrier) since we got him. Boy, I hope it's not parasites, we have two other cats! That'll be a treat Thanks for the suggestions!
Hi there. I need some advice about my cat, who is scooting a lot but the vets don't know why.
Kato started scooting occasionally about 2 months ago. Two weeks ago he was obviously feeling poorly (wouldn't move or eat) so we took him to the vet. They did tons of tests (bloodwork & ultrasound)...
