I can help you find a vet in New York City or Long Island. I can most likely help you find a pet sitter, too. Let me know when you know where you will be living. I have an excellent vet in Manhattan. I have a friend with four cats who lives on Long Island (not very far out) and I'm sure she can...
I said that I would introduce you to my curly girls soon. I don't have all my pictures on my office computer, but this is Hurricane, my "show girl," typical moody calico:

At least I hope the picture went through.

It's a Manx. I'd call it a tortie & white, because the black & orange areas are contiguous, not separated by white areas. I see a calico as a white cat with black & orange spots (or "pennies"). But JMHO. I'm mighty particular about my calicos.

A lot of Rex people use Pantene because their volumizing shampoo works wonders on a curly coat. No one has ever had a problem. Just rinse thoroughly, as you would do with any shampoo.

Could be. Nice spots. Has that "Mau" look to his head. He looks very pleased with himself (as well he should). He's a regal looking cat, in any case.

I don't breed Norwegian Forest Cats, but I see beautiful ones at shows. I'd love to get an opinion from a breeder. But MHO-Your little girl's ear set and her body suggest that she might have a Forest Cat in her background. She doesn't look like a Maine Coon-her body and head type are different...
Sorry-I was looking at the wrong cat. That's an odd-eyed red & white Turkish van. Odds are that the coat pattern is van, assuming that there are two or fewer spots on the body (CFA standard, I don't know TICA). Nice shade of red, too.

Two of my queens (Cornish Rex) had their first heats at around 12 months or a little later. I remember vividly because we were very anxious to get kittens from them and it seemed to take forever for them to have their first heats.
Do you know when her mom had her first heat? The mother of these...
I, too, had a Cornish Rex male who didn't spray. He was the only male and developed a bit late-didn't notice the girls until he was over a year old. We also didn't show him, so he had absolutely no contact with other males, i.e., no need to mark his territory. He knew he owned it and every girl...
I'm new here and am owned by a houseful of curly coated Cornish Rex cats, some of whom I show. I used to breed them, and at some point, I hope to begin breeding them again. I am owned by six adult Rex and one kitten who is rapidly growing into a cat (sigh...). Their names are Stellaluna...
