Hello you lot,
Its lovely and sunny and warm in little old England for a change. Got day off tomorrow, so think I'm gonna do my grooming outside in the sunshine. Just take one cat out at a time and they will go crazy in the fresh air. Because they are all indoor cats they're not used to it. Will...
Hiya
I've shown quite a bit under gccf but I'm up North otherwise would have loved to come along and show you the ropes. You will need a full set of whites, as the other person said, you can order these online from purrsonaltouch.com. They are reasonably priced and efficient. For my first show...
Yeah that sounds like a great idea, and would love to see show piccies, etc. The only thing I would warn about is under UK gccf rules you are not allowed to adverise which show you will be entering. Simply because there may be judges that get to know this info. The rule is you can be banned...
Hi GK
So when you say peoplle show them but not in champion classes are they classed as household pets or still under the Persian group? Where do exotics come in show over there, are they in with the Persians as well, same as here?
Hi SF,
I am presuming you talking bout Caesar. I would persevere with the bath and blow dry, just be firm and calm with him, i have several cats that go psycho as soon as you turn the hair dryer on but if you give in to them they win and will never overcome it.
As for Caesar, I have a tip for...
Thanks Lynda, you just confirmed it for me, its the same here. Thats why no open faced cats are entered, think you call them doll faced is that right?

Hiya!!!!
We Persian breeders actually think 'squishy face' looks good! They may look grumpy but they are not really, in reality they are very affectionate. Its the sort of cat you either love or think yuk, personally I am on the love side, lol.

Hi everyone
Am I right in believing that in the US, Persians have separate classes depending on whether they are open-faced type or ultra type?
I'm sure i've heard this before somewhere and thought some of the Persian people or showing people on here might be able to confirm it.
In the UK...
Hiya I love tabby Persians like the one in your avatar. One of my girls is a blue tabby, but I adore the browns. What colours do you have? and nice to meet you btw
Chrissy
Hi Michaela
I'm Christine, from Lancashire, and I breed Persians. You can get a list of all shows for the year on the gccf website and find the ones nearest to your area. You can email the gccf for a particular show manager's contact details in order to send for a show schedule with an s.a.e...
I can not believe this frightening new trend developing for very small pets. I think it is nothing but 'it' girl mentality, wanting to look fashionable strolling up and down the street with your pet in your handbag. Its disgusting to breed cats or any other pet for this reason, irresponsible...
That sounds similar to a Tica show, where you collect points and so forth and can champion in one day, with Gccf shows you only ever compete against your own breed. Persians are always the most represented breed as well at gccf shows, so the competition is always of a very high standard
