Most cats do love lasers although I did live with one cat (my roommates) who had a cat that didnt care about lasers. They are a lot of fun and I think they are a great thing because it gives the cats a lot of exercise and interactivity.
Simon likes going outside and we take him on a leash sometimes. I too think it's great for cats to be able to go outside but you know it really depends on the cat and the area. I think you do have to let your cat decide though...
