My experience with a female vet, a few years ago, tops all the stories written here.
I had purchased a Ragdoll kitten at a cattery in Waycross, Georgia. After a few weeks she started to act up and the vet said there were clear indications that the kitten might have FIP. At the time I did not...
Thanks, JCat
My boy will be two days tomorrow away from me, at the vet's clinic. Most likely he did not eat and the poor thing looks emaciated. Tomorrow is a big day at the specialist.
Thanks again.
Thanks, BookTiger.
Tomorrow is going to be a big day for Clancy (and for me) Sometimes we get so desperate that we expect vets to be able to walk on water. My heart is heavy but at least I am trying all possibilities to save my sweet boy.
I had a conversation with the daughter of a friend who...
Thanks, PushyLady.
Clancy is a very noble boy. If the worst should happen, he would leave a tremendous void in my life and in the life of Chloe, his companion of several years. She is already missing him --Clancy is at the vet's clinic over the weekend-- and she is looking for him all over the...
Thanks, Pat & Alix.
I am naive so I will be taking my boy to a specialist on Monday. This is so heart breaking. I have lost pets in the past and it has always been very sad.
I still hope for a small miracle.
Thanks again.
Hello, everybody --
You might recall my original thread "Can someone, please shed some light..." about my male cat drooling and not being quite himself. I also expressed my fears about having brought to him the dreaded FIP virus on my clothes and shoes after visiting with a friend whose cat...
I just found this board and think it's great. We recently (one week ago) adopted 2 5 month old kitties. We brought them home and on the second day one of them had a lot of eye discharge, he shuts it more than the other one, and eye goopies. We called the shelter and they said it could be him...
KattieMae --
Don't feel guilty about not having had a postmortem procedure on your precious little kid. Most likely, after the vet looked into the situation, came to the conclusion that there was no chances of recovery from whatever the poor little creature died. I would not want see myself in...
Thanks for your message, JungleButterfly.
Interesting input but I take it that if the infected cat lived in your brother's room he did not share sleeping quarters, food and water bowls, litterboxes, etc. with the others. He was isolated from the rest, so to speak. Am I right?
Regards.
Thanks, KatieMae1277.
Matters have taken a strange twist now (in case you have followed this thread from the start)
Last night, my female cat --a long time companion of Clancy, my male cat-- dissapeared for hours. I could not find her anywhere in the house. They are house cats, never allowed...
Please don't worry about having missed the detail of the appointment with the vet, Gayef. I am guilty of doing the same thing. I scan quickly and I miss some points in the process.
Your answer brings some relief to me. A friend told me the same thing but I am worried about having brought the...
Thanks for your reply, Gayef.
Yes, as posted before, an appointment with the vet has been set for Thursday. I a nervous thinking I might have carried the virus on my clothing or shoes.
Hello everyone --
I have two cats, about eight years old. For the last few days my male cat has been acting strange. A bit lethargic and not eating his dry food that he used to love so much. He now eats canned food which is softer. Recently he has been drooling a bit and I noticed that if he...
