what should i do .. GYPSY has been eating this recall stuff for the last half month .. she has basically eaten 3/ 4 of a 3lb bag over the last month ...
she isnt showing any symptons .. no diarreha , no vomiting .. no loss in appetite ..
i have switched her to PURINA NATURALS for the time...
gypsy has eaten about 3/4 of a 3 lb bag -- of the recalled .. shows no signs of a problem .. should i be alarmed and take her to the vet even though there doesnt seem to be any side effects
Gypsy is my 3 year old ..
she has been on NUTRO basically her whole life .. when from NURTO KITTEN .. to NUTRO MAX CAT ( she didnt like NUTRO COMPLETE CARE ) but had no problem eating MAX CAT
i have kept her on NUTRO MAX CAT .. because i found that NUTRO and have heard from multiple people...
yes its about 3 oz of wet in the morning
and then she self feeds dry food from about 5 pm until 11 pm ... i take the food away at night before going to bed .. so she does not eat during the night ...
so basically the opinion of everyone is not just try and cut back on food /? ??? rather...
yes she actually eats " wet " food in the morning
she gets a little " wet " in the morning .. basically enough for 1 feeding .. and then around 5 pm she gets dry food to self feed on ....
I would like to stick with a little wet and a little dry ......
I will be the first to admit I dont really understand all the " in depth " stuff about cat food ..
I have been feeding " gypsy " Nutro product since she was a kitten ....
she is a indoor cat .. and i initially tried her on " indoor " and she didnt really like it .. so we went to " MAX CAT...
guess i will just have to monitor this ..... as i slowly switch over to Roasted Chicken .. if after a month all is not good ...
guess i could always try to go back to plain REGULAR NUTRO ......
dang them for discont.. the LAMB .. LOL .
my cat ( GYPSY ) has been on NUTRO since she was around 6 months .. i noticed a big difference in little box odor ...
after switching from kitten to ADULT food .... we settled on LAMB flavor which she really loved and there were no diahrea ( like she was having with oceanfish flavor -- the...
alrighty .. that makes sense .. that i cant find it anywhere ..
so coming from LAMB FLAVOR ...
what would you slowly switch to .....
OCEAN FISH gave her terrible case of diarrhea -- same with NUTRO plain COMPLETE ..
LAMB seemed to be the only flavor that really worked ...
so looks...
NUTRO LAMB FLAVOR seems to be the " FAVORITE " food that me and my kitty settled on - after numerous attempts to switch from kitten to adult .. the LAMB seemed to work ..
but i have noticed over the last 3 - 5 months .. its getting hard to find LAMB flavor anywhere
did i miss something ...
i was thinking the same thing to stick with the CHICKEN based food ..
but the NUTRO helps so much with the odor that i was trying to stick with it
when i first started feeding her Nutro within a couple weeks i could tell the smell was much much less .. thats really the main reason i was...
she has been eating NUTRO kitten for the last year ... i slowly was switching her to ADULT nutro .. 75 / 25 split .. and everything was fine .. then once we got to 50/50 diahrrea ... and lots of it ..
so i went back to kitten and the stool started to get back to normal . its been a week back...
currently i am doing the 25/ 75 and will continue for a the next couple days
she is going in on MONDAY for her 1 year check up .. anyways ... hasnt gone to the bathroom yet today ( stool ) - maybe a little constipated ..
well i was going to ease her slowly
we did 25 - 75 ( kitten ) - for about 4 days ..
then started to do 50 - 50 - and thats when i started to notice
then after another 4 or 5 days i really started to notice
so i then backed off and went back ( currently ) to 75 percent kitten and 25...
I happened to be in the bathroom tonight when she was in the litter box ...
she went tonight .. and 80 percent of the stool was normal .. until the very end which was soft like diarrahea -
the normal part was one color .. while the diarrahea part was a totally differnt color ...
she seems...
ok ... will keep a close eye on things
i was under the impression it was very common for this to happen at times
the thing that made me wonder was the half normal stool and a little of diarrhea
