    Male cat behavior around kittens?

What's normal behavior for a male cat around kittens? Our fosters are all nice and healthy, as are our adult cats (just got their yearly shots last week too!) so we've started to let them interact a little bit. Phoebe wants nothing to do with them but Escher seems to be "baby-sitting" them...

    Help! Sneezing!

Escher and Phoebe just went to the vets on Monday (both super healthy, just going to get their annual shots, plus Phoebe gets an allergy shot every spring) and this afternoon when we got home, Escher started sneezing! He hasn't sneezed once this week (well, he almost never sneezes) until today...

    again? grrr

Ok, so little Thunder went to the vet last week with MC b/c she had some diarrhea and I wanted it looked into. She was also on the low end of her litter's weight. The vet had me reworm everyone (which caused diarrhea that night but promptly went away) and I've been watching them closely ever...

    Pooping in the carrier

Ok, I know both of our cats hate being in the carrier. They are usually in it to travel to my house or FI's house or to the vet. Well, over Christmas, we drove the 2 hours to FI's house and about half-way there, Phoebe pooped in her carrier. We thought maybe she just had to go. She was then...

What's he gonna be? Short or Med?

I'm trying to write up descriptions of all the foster kittens and most seem like they'll be short haired and then there's this little bugger. Here's a bit of the kicker, this is the same kitten, pictures taken 2 days apart. With him on the tissue box, I'd swear he's gonna be a med. or long...

    Kitten diarrhea

I posted this in my Foster kittens thread but need a quick answer so I know whether or not to call the vet. We rewormed all the kittens yesterday (though technically they weren't supposed to get it until Monday, the vet wanted them to get it anyways). Then last night EVERYONE had diarrhea...

    Dehydrated kittens

Any tips for helping with this? I've noticed our younger ones still get dehydrated occasionally. They always have 2 water bowls available to them (which I do see them drinking out of), free feeding dry food and they get wet food 3-4x a day, often mixed with KMR.

    URGENT! Kitten not gaining weight!

Ok, 6 of the 7 foster kittens are gaining weight just fine, but our little runt, while eatting a ton, and having solid poop (yay!), is still MUCH smaller than the others. They're all eating wet food fine, and the 2 older fosters are munching on the dry food just fine and the little ones started...

    New Foster Kitten pics!

Alright, there's longer explanation on the PG/kitten board, but here's our 7 fosters, 2 are obviously older than the other 5. Don't have names or sexes for them yet, just getting them set up, so here are the pics!

    New Foster kittens!

Well, since the Parvo is officially gone and it's spring time, we've got our next batch of foster kittens! A total of 7, though 2 of them appear to be about 2-3 weeks older than the other 5. The younger litter is estimated to be 4 weeks old. All we really know is that they were found in a box...

    Eating MORE

Our 2 cats are currently fed the recommended amount of dry food and this is supplemented by wet food every night. We've been putting the dry food out in 2 batches, once about an hour after we get up, and the other at 10 pm. At 9:30 we give them their wet food and they only have until 10 to eat...

    Giardia vs. Whipworm?

I also posted this in the Health and Nutrition hoping it would get more hits. DOG QUESTION - I know this is a cat site but I trust the information I've gotten on here and I believe the symptoms and general treatment for both of these are similar for dogs and cats, so I'm posting here just to...

    Cage for queens and kittens?

Hi everyone! My FI and I are going to be fostering a pregnant queen and her kittens soon but we only have a 2 bedroom apartment. We were planning on getting a dog crate to put them in in the spare bedroom (locking our other cats out). I was looking for suggestions for a cage that would be big...

    Fostering again!

Yay! Our Humane Society has cleared us for fostering again (for those of you that don't remember, our first litter of kittens ended up having Parvo and had to be put down, and we were put on quarantine for 6 months-1yr). We're going to go to an orientation to better prepare for the pregnant...

    Help! Chipped tooth!

We had a friend over the other day and they brought their new puppy, which of course resulted in a lot of hissing and growling from our kitties. Phoebe got so bad that when I picked her up to lock her in the cat room she hissed at me! Anyways, when she did that, I noticed that one of her...

    how high?

Our little girl has this lovely habit of eating too quickly and then promptly vomitting next to her food bowl (although yesterday she managed to make it all the way to our new comforter on the bed to vomit) and we raised the food bowls to try to get her to eat slower, but only a couple of...

    Travel tales

Alright, with all the recent posts on here about how to travel with kitties, I was wanting to hear stories of everyone's travels over the holidays! Please share what worked, what didn't worked, etc!

    Wet food switching

I thought I read somewhere that it's ok to switch up wet food brands/flavors often without the mixing/adjustment period that you have to do with dry food. I'm wondering if this is true. We get 3 brands of cat food (wellness, innova, merriks) in a variety of flavors each month and give them...

    Plastic Bag chewing - HELP!

Phoebe, who's terrified of plastic bags moving, has been sneaking into the study and bathroom (low trash cans) and chewing on the plastic bags! We've tried yelling NO everytime we see her doing it (she'll stop, run away, and hide for awhile) but she keeps doing it. We switched to citrus...

    Catnip seeds

Anyone know where to buy these? I've seen them online but then it costs more than the seeds to ship them!
