This! This takes time and that amount varies from cat to cat. In my experience, the more persistant cats take about a week to two weeks, so be prepared for a bit of a haul. They will settle down eventually.

Just a guess but, pee and poo are scent markers and as such cats cover it up (or, sometimes, don't, such as when they are specifically desirious of marking something). Vomit has no such properties. There is thus no need to hide it, and they don't have an instinct to do so.
