HELP! my cats are killing each other!

Thanks... I tried that for a couple hours and it didn't seem to work. They just started right back up again as soon as they saw each other.

HELP! my cats are killing each other!

at about 8:30 this morning I got home and noticed the neighbor's cat was sleeping on my back deck. I don't particularly care, so I just left him alone. When I got in the house, all 3 of my cats were just watching him through the back window. I left them alone because I didn't think anything of...

Is it ok to separate 2 brother cats?

Yeah, the sad thing is, there are PLENTY of ways to deal with the UTI. In fact I'm not even sure he still has it, he just has a preference for urinating on the couch, and he's done it so much that the urine has penetrated the leather, foam ,and frame, and the couch is destroyed. It smells...

Is it ok to separate 2 brother cats?

Two of my cats are brothers, about 3 years old. We've had them both since they were very young kittens, but now we may give up one because his recurring UTI problems have gotten too much to handle. we've tried EVERYTHING. Is this going to have a negative effect on either cat if they are...

    can someone reccomend a low-magnesium, low-fat, low-ash, low-carb, wet food?

My cat has FUS and is also obese. The vet recommended low-ash low-magnesium for the urinary problem, but these foods tend to be high in fat and carbs, and she certainly doesnt need any more of that. Is there a food like this? thanks.

I think we may return our cat to the shelter

Whew. OK lots of questions and stuff to sort through. To answer a big one, we haven't done much about her obesity, because we just aren't sure what to do. Trying to keep her on special food or a low diet is tricky. There are 2 other cats who always try to eat her food. We had the same problem...

I think we may return our cat to the shelter

2 years ago, my wife saw a fat orange adult cat at an adoption fair and HAD to have her. We already had 2 cats, so I was hesitant, but once I found out that this cat had been there for nearly 3 years, I couldn't leave her there. So we adopted her. She has turned out to be the nicest, friendliest...

how to keep a cat away from a "peeing area"

I have two cats that both had UTIs. The vets confirm that they are both better, but the inappropriate peeing continues. One cat had repeatedly used the corner at the bottom of the stairs. This past weekend, we began remodeling the kitchen and when we ripped up the rug and floorboards in that...

cat has stopped using litter box

Yes, they are all spayed and neutered. She is urinating as well. Also, I should add, the problem cat is Lacey, the really fat one on the far left in the photo. As you can see, she is quite overweight. We live in a three-level townhouse and the litter boxes are in the basement. It could be a...

cat has stopped using litter box

I have a cat who was adopted so I can't be sure of her exact age, but we think it's about 5 years old. We've had her for 2 years and she's never had litter box problems. Now, suddenly (within about the last 2 weeks) she is defecating on the rug, on an almost daily basis. I tried cleaning the...

    Cat keeps urinating on couch

OK, I'll try that with the litter box if the urination continues. No sense in buying a new one unless it's a problem, right? BTW Thought I'd share a pic: Sparky is the orange one, the gray is his brother Jofus

    Cat keeps urinating on couch

thanks everyone for all your responses. I took Sparky to the vet this weekend and it turns out he has a pretty bad UTI, so we got antibiotics and he seems to be doing better.

    Cat keeps urinating on couch

A few things have changed. We moved into a new apartment in May, and got all-new leather furniture. That may be cause, but we've moved him about 3 times before and he never had a problem. Also, our son, who just turned 1, has been crawling since about the same time, and for some reason he has a...

    Cat keeps urinating on couch

My cat Sparky (about 1 1/2 years old) seems to prefer urinating on the couch instead of the litter box. We've used Nature's Miracle, Best Behavior, contact paper, all the tricks, and he STILL goes up there and pees. He didnt seem to have any problem until maybe a month or two ago. MY wife is...

    White bald spots on ears

My orange tabby Sparky has recently began to show white balding spots on his ears. Not on his head, or the area around his ears, but only on the actual thin skin of his ears. They don't seem to be causing him any pain, and he doesn't react at all if we touch them. We haven't noticed him or his...

leather furniture...do cats scratch that too?

We just bought new leather furniture and had it delivered on Saturday. We also moved into a new place that same day. Our three cats seemed ok but on Monday morning I awoke to find claw marks and a nice steaming pile of cat poop on one of the couches. This was odd because our cats have never had...
