    Cat allergy question

Our cat has developed a skin allergy recently, & we're unsure of the cause. The vet has put him on prednisolone, which he has been on for 2 weeks now, he's been down to half a tablet a day this week, & the allergy started to reappear yesterday. We took him back to the vets today & she...

He doesn't want us to go out!

Max has a habit of curling up on our clothes to try & stop us from leaving him, I don't know if this is normal cat behaviour but it's quite cute! This was him earlier today.

    Poor Max

He seems to have a recurring problem with one of his eyes. I'm not sure if he gets dust or grit in it, but one of them is regularly weeping , causing him to scratch it. He's lost some fur above his right eye as you can see from the picture. If it gets any worse we'll obviously need to make a...

Help, do we get another cat??

We've got a soon to be 4 year old moggy Max, who's been an indoor cat all his life. We've seen an advertisement for a kitten which sounds very similar to him(in appearance obviously), and were thinking of viewing him/her. Would we be doing the right thing in getting a companion for Max, or...

    Introducing a new kitten?

We've had our 3 year old moggy Max since he was a kitten, but think maybe the time is right for him to have a companion. He's an indoor cat, who gets plenty of attention, but spends a fair amount of time alone whilst we're at work. We just feel it would be fun for him to have a playmate, but are...

    Holiday cats(long thread)

Just back from The Algarve, and there were 4 cats that seemed to live around the hotel. Unfortunately the poor things(1 in particular) were so underfed, to the extent you could see their ribs. There were 2 in particular that you'd alamost always see together, the one in the photograph and a poor...

    Digging?

Max has a habit of digging around his food tray either after he's finished eating, or when we put his food out. Does these mean he's "burying" it, and will come back later, as he also does the same thing around his food tray after he's done his business in his litter tray?

    Water fountain?

We're going on holiday soon, and our cat loves drinking from the tap. Obviously we can't leave the tap on while we're away, so were thinking of getting him a cat water fountain. I was wondering if anyone on here has a cat that uses one, and whether they're any good?

Planning a holiday, will cat be ok??

We're going on holiday for a week in July, & are a bit concerned about leaving Max as it'll be the first time we've holidayed since we've had him(3 years). He's an indoor cat(we live in a top floor flat), although he's become obsessed with going out of the flat into the stairwell recently &...

    Normal behaviour?

The past few weeks Max has started walking around the house with his toy puppy in his mouth, giving out a heartbreaking meaow every so often, as if he's communicating with it. He then begins wrestling with it, before abandoning it & doing something else. I just wondered if anyone else on here...

    Christmas tree question

Are real Christmas trees poisonous to cats, we've never had a real one before, but were thinking of getting one this year? Thanks.

    Bum question!(not nice)

We always wipe Max's bum with toilet paper after he's been(gently), I don't know if this is normal behaviour but it's never seemed to bother him. This was until a couple of weeks ago when he had a bad tummy, & I think he was a bit sore down there when we wiped him. The past couple of days he's...

    Max up high!

Max has developed a new habit of leaping from one of our cabinets to a very high book case. I know cats like being up high but I must stop encouraging him to do so in case he misjudges the jump. Anyway, here are a few pics I thought I'd share with you all!

    Help, holiday question!

We haven't had a holiday since we got Max, which is almost 2 years now. Max is an indoor cat, but has plenty of playtime & toys to keep him entertained, but has never spent more than one night on his own, so the thought of leaving him on his own for a week is worrying to say the least. When...

    Max's birthday pics

Today is Max's 2nd birthday and we treated him to a new activity centre, and he loves it. I've attached a couple of pictures of him getting to know his new toy!

    Possible eye problem

Hopefully I'm worrying about nothing, but here goes anyway. I came in from work & noticed a very slight swelling on Max's right eyelid. It actually looks as if there is a bald patch there, although this may be the swelling. He's been rubbing it a bit, so it may just be a case of him having a bit...

    Hair chewing query??

Hi all. For a long while now, Max has been jumping up on to my wife & I's bed in the morning, and he climbs on to her pillow & begins chewing her hair & purring like mad. Is this just a reassurance/comforting thing? Not that it really bothers her, I just wondered if this was "normal" behaviour...
