I think what they were saying is that the term "meal" means the meat was overprocessed and cooked at very high temps, making it less nutritious than when it is just labeled like "Turkey" or "Chicken". Dr. Lisa Pierson mentions this on her site, too. www.catinfo.org

My vote also goes for canned foods. My Trixter used to throw up quite often on dry, and ended up diabetic, too. Canned foods keep his pancreas working and he very rarely vomits anymore, either. Canned foods high in protien (preferably wheat gluten free) are a much more natural and digestible...

Hi, I am certainly no expert, but I would say a vet visit would be good. An overall exam shouldnt cost much, and the vet can give you an overall idea of how he/she feels her health is doing, check her teeth, give you an age estimate, etc. Since you are not sure either, and she has these issues...

Hi. The best site to go to for feline diabetes is www.felinediabetes.com. There are some very wonderful and experienced people who frequent the forums there. Also, a low carb canned or raw diet is best for ALL cats, especially diabetics. Yay for someone posting a link to Dr. P's site...

Yes, it certainly is!! I saw one more of the girls this morning, Sheba. She ate like a little piggy! WHEW! All together 29 cats have had their lives changed. I am SO happy that I stood up and reached for help for these precious babies! I will have pics soon of them with their tipped ears.
